Read at Speed flashes any web page one word at a time in a clean reader on top of the page, so you keep moving through articles, news and long reads instead of skimming them. It is the same reader as the Read at Speed app at readatspeed.com, with the same settings, now on any website. HOW IT WORKS - Select text and click "Read selection", right-click it, or press Alt+Shift+R. - Or click "Read this page". Read at Speed finds the main article and starts with the headline, the date and the author. - Menus, ads, sidebars, cookie notices, promo boxes and newsletter sign-ups are skipped, so you only read the article. - Or paste or drop any text: click "Paste to read" in the toolbar popup, or drop text on the Quick read tab. An email, a report, a chat, anything. It isn't saved anywhere. - The reader flashes one word at a time with the focus letter in red, so your eyes stay still. THE SAME READER AS THE APP - Same look and feel as the app: night and day mode, the same type and the same red focus letter. - Speed from 50 to 1,200 words per minute, in steps of 25, on the same flick wheel as the app. - 1, 2, 3 or 4 words per flash, and text size from 28 to 96 px. - Space bar to play and pause. Jump back 10 or 30 words if you lose the thread, or restart. - Chapters: long articles are split by their headings so you can jump between sections. - Focus mode hides everything but the words. - Long words shrink to fit on one line, so nothing wraps or jumps. - Speed Challenge: start at an average pace, level up as you read and earn the same badges as the app. DRAG IT ANYWHERE - Drag the reader by its top bar to any spot on the page. - It reopens where you left it next time.
