WHAT IT DOES • Reads any article aloud Open a page, click Listen, and audio starts within seconds. It begins reading almost immediately and keeps the rest buffered ahead of you, so there is no waiting for a whole article to be processed and no "part 1 of 6" to click through. • Highlights every word as it is read The word being spoken lights up on the page itself. This makes it far easier to stay with a long article, to read along while listening, and to pick up exactly where you left off after a distraction. • Finds the article, skips the clutter Navigation, cookie banners, share buttons, citation markers, reference lists, info-boxes, "related articles" and comment sections are left out. You hear the piece you came to read — not the furniture around it. • Click any word to start reading from there Skip a paragraph, go back over a sentence you missed, or jump to a section further down. Reading resumes from the exact word you clicked. • Follows you down the page The page scrolls itself to keep the spoken word in view. Scroll away to check something and it backs off politely, then picks up again. Auto-scroll can be switched off entirely. • Adjust the speed while it reads Seven steps from 0.5x up to 2x. Your choice is remembered for next time. • Change voice or language mid-article Pick a different voice and it takes over at the next natural break — nothing is cut off mid-sentence and you never lose your place. Your language choice is remembered. • Replay costs you nothing When an article finishes, the play button becomes a replay button. Listening again re-uses the audio already in the page, so hearing something a second time never costs you anything. • Never cuts out mid-article If your monthly allowance runs out while you are reading, the extension does not simply stop. Your device's own built-in voice picks up at the exact word the natural voice reached and finishes the page for free. • Save a whole article for later Send an article — up to 30,000 characters — to your Read Aloud Text dashboard as a single audio file, with its headings and paragraph structure preserved. Guests get 10,000 characters of natural-voice reading every month, free, with no sign-up. A free account raises that to 20,000 characters a month and unlocks saving articles to your dashboard. Nothing in the extension is time-limited or trial-based — the free allowance renews every month. Whichever plan you are on, if the allowance runs out the extension keeps reading with your device's inbuilt voice rather than stopping.
