I've used this for years about a few months ago it stopped working. I can't get it to read anything aloud. even the test script

Great app, I'm in school and everyone ask what i use to make 'the text read out loud' and i just make them install this, no other unnecessary things added its really good at what it does and it have to read a bunch of stuff, the only downside is i wish i had it on my phone too.

The app is brilliant when it works but it usually has issues with permissions from google so its best to stick to the microsoft voices.

Plenty of free voice & language options, no paywalls, no text limit.

frequent errors, skipping lines, paywalled brian voice, bad interface. i used to like this extension, now its just sad

Gone. all functionality that used to be there: gone. Just needed a credible voice and not one linking tts services. :|

It has the same voices as the free version of Speechify, but the UI is clunky and unattractive, like it was made in the late 80's. I tried it on my Gmail homepage, a big ugly box popped up taking up almost have the screen, the box had the text it was reading, and another DOS looking small box popped up in the toolbar with the play and settings options. But, it works. But you might as well just use Speechify free if you want the same voices and a cleaner interface.
