Overview
Measure your visual reaction time across five attempts and see your median, average and fastest response.
⚡ How fast do you respond when a visual signal changes? Reaction Time Test gives you a quick, focused way to measure your visual-motor response directly in Chrome. There is no registration, no account and no need to send your results to a server. Open the extension, wait for the red screen to turn green and respond as quickly as you can. One lucky click can make a single reaction measurement misleading. That is why this test uses five completed attempts and presents your median reaction time as the main result. The median reduces the influence of one unusually fast or slow response and gives you a more stable summary of the session. 🎯 WHAT THE TEST SHOWS • Median reaction time across five valid attempts • Average response time • Fastest response • A clear result for every round • Number of early clicks • Adaptive local difficulty • A simple explanation of the result 🧭 HOW IT WORKS The screen begins red. Wait without clicking. After a random delay, it turns green. Click or tap immediately when you see the green signal. Clicking before the signal is an early response. Waiting more than three seconds after the green signal is a late response. Neither case consumes the current attempt: you can retry it and still complete five valid rounds. The waiting interval changes with the local difficulty level. Strong completed sessions gradually shorten the possible delay, while slower sessions make a small, gentle adjustment in the other direction. Difficulty and recent results are stored only in Chrome extension storage on your device. 📊 WHY USE FIVE ATTEMPTS? Reaction time changes from moment to moment. Attention, expectation, fatigue, the display, the mouse or touchscreen and background browser activity can all affect an individual click. A five-attempt test remains quick while giving you more context than a one-click timer. 🔁 BUILT FOR REPEAT TESTING The full result appears inside the extension. You can immediately take the same Reaction Time Test again and compare how consistent the next set feels. Because the tool opens on its own full-size extension page, the signal remains large and easy to see instead of being squeezed into a small popup. If you want to explore more cognitive activities, the result screen also includes an optional button that opens the full BrainExerciseApp catalog in a new tab. The extension never redirects you automatically, and your reaction result remains visible. 🔒 PRIVACY FIRST Reaction Time Test does not read the pages you visit. It does not request browsing-history, cookie, location, microphone, camera or website-access permissions. The extension stores only its own settings and test history locally through Chrome storage. It does not require your name or email address and does not sell user data. 🌍 ACCESSIBLE, DISTRACTION-FREE DESIGN • Large visual states and high-contrast instructions • Mouse, touchscreen and trackpad support • Visible keyboard focus for controls • Responsive layout for desktop and Chromebook screens • Reduced-motion support based on system settings • English, Russian, Hindi, French and Filipino interface 💡 FOR MORE CONSISTENT COMPARISONS Use the same device, browser window, input method and similar testing conditions. Close heavy background tasks and place the pointer in a comfortable position before beginning. Repeating the test can improve familiarity with the sequence, so compare sessions as an informal personal reference rather than a clinical measurement. ⚠️ IMPORTANT Reaction Time Test is intended for entertainment, practice and informal self-assessment. It is not a medical, neurological, psychological or clinical diagnostic tool. Results can be influenced by hardware latency, display refresh rate, input method, browser performance, fatigue, practice and environmental conditions. 🚀 Five attempts. Instant results. No registration. Start your Reaction Time Test whenever you want a quick check of visual response speed.
