Rapidialer Dialer is the official Chrome extension for Rapidialer, a browser-based Twilio power dialer for outbound teams. It is a Chrome side-panel softphone with a keypad so you can place outbound business calls from Chrome without leaving the tab you are working in. What is Rapidialer Dialer? Rapidialer Dialer is not a separate phone company and not a free calling app. It is the Chrome calling panel for people who already use Rapidialer on the web. Rapidialer is the outbound dialer workspace (lists, scripts, dispositions, and call history in the dashboard). Twilio Voice is the telephony layer (your numbers and voice minutes). This extension is the keypad you keep beside Gmail, a CRM, LinkedIn, or research tabs. Who is it for? It is built for outbound sales reps, SDRs, founders who dial their own lists, and small calling teams that use Rapidialer with their own Twilio account. Install it if you already place Rapidialer calls in the browser and want the same outbound dialer available as a Chrome side panel. Do not install it if you want click-to-call on random websites, a full contact-center suite, or calling without a Rapidialer account. How does it work? 1. Load Rapidialer Dialer in Chrome and open the side panel from the toolbar. The panel stays open while you change tabs. 2. Sign in through the normal Rapidialer login page (email and password or Google). The extension exchanges a short-lived handoff code. It does not store your password or Google credential. 3. Enter or paste a phone number, choose a configured caller ID from your Rapidialer outbound numbers, and start the call. 4. Mute or hang up from the panel. The live call can stay connected if you close the panel or switch tabs. Chrome asks for the microphone only when you start a call. What you can do in the extension • Place one outbound business call at a time from Chrome • Use a keypad, paste a number, and backspace • Select a Rapidialer-configured caller ID • Mute and hang up • Keep the call alive while you browse • See a clear reason when calling is blocked (plan, Twilio setup, or no outbound number) What stays in the Rapidialer dashboard Lists, CSV import, talk tracks and scripts, wrap-up dispositions, notes, callbacks, call history, recordings, team seats, billing, and Twilio admin are not in this extension. Open https://app.rapidialer.com for that workspace. The extension is the Chrome keypad, not a second Rapidialer product. What you need before it will place a call • A Rapidialer account and an eligible plan that allows dialing • Twilio connected in Rapidialer (bring your own Twilio Voice account and numbers) • At least one outbound phone number configured in Rapidialer • Chrome 114 or later Rapidialer still enforces caller-ID rules, recording settings, and do-not-call protections. Twilio still bills telephony separately from the Rapidialer seat subscription. If calling is unavailable, the panel tells you whether to upgrade or finish setup in Rapidialer. What Rapidialer Dialer does not do It does not provide free, unlimited, or anonymous calling. It does not read the current webpage, inject click-to-call buttons, scrape phone numbers, or access browsing history. It does not manage leads, scripts, or call recordings inside the panel. Network access is limited to Rapidialer (including app.rapidialer.com for sign-in) and Twilio voice services. Why install Rapidialer Dialer instead of only using the dashboard? Use the dashboard when you are working a list, following a talk track, or wrapping up a call. Use Rapidialer Dialer when you need to dial a number while you are already in another Chrome tab. You get the same Rapidialer organization, plan, Twilio numbers, and compliance rules, with a smaller Chrome softphone. Privacy and permissions Storage keeps the signed-in session on this device. Identity opens Rapidialer-hosted sign-in and returns a handoff code. Side panel shows the keypad across tab changes. Offscreen keeps the Twilio WebRTC call alive if the panel closes. The microphone is requested only when you start a call and is used for the live call, not for browsing analytics. Frequently asked questions Is Rapidialer Dialer a free Chrome dialer? No. You need a Rapidialer account and an eligible plan. Twilio voice usage is billed by Twilio. Does it work without Twilio? No. Rapidialer is a Twilio power dialer. You connect the Twilio account and numbers you already control. Can I click a number on any website to call? No. This extension does not scan pages or add click-to-call. You type or paste the number into the keypad. Does the call drop if I change tabs? No. The side panel stays open across tabs. Active calls can remain connected if you close the panel. Is this the same as Rapidialer on the web? It is the same account and the same outbound Twilio calling. The Chrome extension is keypad-only.
