Overview
Your private wallet for Rand Protocol: shielded RAND and tokens, private payments, bridge withdrawals and dapp approvals.
Rand Wallet is a self-custody wallet for the Rand Protocol testnet, in your browser's side panel or toolbar. Rand is a fully shielded chain: there are no public accounts and no public balances. Your wallet is one spend key, generated in the extension and stored encrypted under your password. Your balance is the set of notes that key can open. A payment is authorised by a zero-knowledge proof, so the chain learns that a valid payment happened and nothing about who paid whom or how much. WHAT IT DOES • Create a wallet, or import a spend key or a wallet.key.json • Receive: your rand1… address as text and as a QR code • Send RAND and listed tokens, including zUSD: the extension builds the payment, a prover makes the large proof, the extension checks it and submits it • Withdraw zUSD through the Rand bridge, and connect to randbridge.org: the site sees your address only after you approve it • Approve dapp calls: a site such as durian.market asks, the wallet's own window shows exactly what leaves and what comes back, and nothing happens until you approve • Activity: every note you received and every payment you sent • Disclose only what you choose: copy your viewing key to open your own history on randscan.org, or one payment's transaction key to show exactly that payment • Password-encrypted key storage, optional Touch ID unlock, auto-lock, dark and light themes ABOUT SENDING A proof needs more memory than a browser gives an extension, so the extension makes only the small authorisation proof and a prover makes the rest. By default that is the RandProtocol prover, run by the network's validators at no fee: it receives your viewing key, so it can read your wallet's history, and it can never spend. The extension tells you this once, before your first send. For more privacy, choose your own prover in Settings → Prover: the Rand Wallet desktop app on the same computer, or your own server. YOUR KEYS STAY WITH YOU Your spend key is generated in the extension and never leaves it. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no remote code. The extension talks only to the RPC node in Settings, to the prover that makes your proofs, and to the sites you approve. GOOD TO KNOW • There is no recovery service. Save your spend key when the wallet shows it to you. • Rand Wallet does not buy, sell or exchange anything and holds no funds on your behalf. • The test network may be reset; a reset makes its notes unspendable. Testnet software: not audited, not for real value. Test RAND has no monetary value. Open source under GPL-3.0: github.com/randprotocol/clients Privacy policy: randprotocol.org/clients/privacy
