Overview
🚆 Easily see railway lines on Google Maps!
This extension lets you view railways—including trains, trams, subways, light rail, monorails, and narrow-gauge lines—directly on Google Maps. How it works: Click the floating “Fetch Rails” button to display all railways in your current map view. Rails appear in bright pink with a white outline. No automatic updates—just fetch whenever you want to see the latest lines for your area. Features: 🚉 Highlights all railways in your current map viewport. 🌍 Works at zoom level 7 and above; zoom out too far and no data will appear. ⏳ Shows a loading indicator while fetching. ⚠️ Handles errors gracefully and suggests zooming in if the query is too large. Technical details (for curious users 🛠️): Uses Overpass API to fetch OpenStreetMap railway data. Adds an SVG overlay on top of Google Maps for smooth rendering. Includes debug logging for troubleshooting. Important: 🗺️ Works only on Google Maps. Click the button after zooming or moving the map to update the railway overlay.
