Overview

A private tab time tracker — see how long you actually spend on each site (active, idle, and away), 100% on-device.

Quiet Hours shows you where your time actually goes — not just which tabs were open, but which ones you were genuinely using. What it tracks For every site, Quiet Hours reports three honest numbers: • Open — how long the tab was open while you were at your computer • Active — how long it was the tab you were actually using • Real Use % — Active ÷ Open, so "I use this constantly" and "I just never close it" don't look the same Where to see it • Popup — a live glance at today's active time, sites, and real-use %, right in the toolbar • Overview — a weekly chart of active time per site, with a trend vs. last week • Domains / Sites / Groups — sortable, searchable breakdown tables • Sessions — every continuous stretch on a tab, timestamped • Timeline — a visual, zoomable day-by-day view of every site and idle gap • Groups — organize sites by hand, by hostname or whole domain • CSV / JSON export, and one-click deletion of any time range Why install it • It's honest about what it's showing you. Active time is always wall-clock-bounded — only one tab can be the one you're actually using at any instant, so your daily total can't quietly balloon past 24 hours the way some trackers' can. Open time (how long tabs just sat there) is tracked too, but shown per site — never folded into one misleading headline number. • Your data never leaves your device. This extension has no network permissions and cannot make a network request — full stop. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no telemetry. Everything it tracks stays in local storage on your device. • It's genuinely lightweight. No content scripts, so it adds zero overhead to any page you load. No busy-loop polling, either — it wakes up briefly on tab switches, focus changes, and a once-a-minute alarm to save progress, then goes straight back to sleep. Install it, use your browser normally, and check back whenever you're curious. That's the whole idea.
