Quiet EPUB Reader is a calm, private e-book reader that lives in your browser. Open an EPUB file, read it, close the tab — next time you are back on the same page. OPENS YOUR BOOKS, RELIABLY • Open EPUB files from your computer with one click, or drag them onto the reader. • Optional: open .epub links on websites directly in the reader instead of downloading them. You can also right-click a link and choose "Open in Quiet EPUB Reader". • Clear explanations when a book cannot be opened: DRM-protected books, damaged files, or a web page that is not a book. • Also opens DRM-free MOBI, AZW3, FB2 and CBZ files (experimental). READ THE WAY YOU LIKE • Pages or continuous scrolling, switch at any time. • Light, sepia and dark themes, or follow your system. • Choose the font, text size, line spacing and column width; justify and hyphenate text if you like; one or two columns on wide screens. • Works with Chinese, Japanese and Korean text. FIND YOUR WAY • Table of contents. • Search the whole book, with every match highlighted and listed by chapter. • Progress bar, percentage and an estimate of the time left in the chapter. • Remembers your place in every book, even if you open the same file again later or from another folder. • A library of recently opened books with covers and progress. Keep a copy of a book in the browser only if you want to. KEYBOARD AND ACCESSIBILITY • Every action has a keyboard shortcut (press ? to see them all): arrows and Space to turn pages, T for contents, / to search, D for the theme, + and − for text size. • High-contrast themes, visible focus, labelled controls, and support for screen readers. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. • Everything stays on your computer. The only download the extension ever makes is the book you asked to open. • Scripts inside books are blocked, and books cannot load images or fonts from the internet (no tracking pixels). • No warning permissions at install. Access to websites is asked only if you turn on "Open .epub links", and is used only to download the book you clicked. • Delete all your data with one button. OPEN SOURCE Quiet EPUB Reader is open source (MIT licence) and is built on the excellent foliate-js e-book engine.
