Quick Summarize is a Chrome extension that lets you quickly summarize the content of web pages and YouTube videos. You can easily summarize articles, documents, reports, announcements, YouTube videos, and more without leaving the page you are currently viewing. With this extension, you can summarize the current page directly in a temporary ChatGPT chat. You can start using it right away without copying and pasting the page content. You can also use the OpenAI API or OpenRouter to display summaries inside the extension panel. Choose the summarization method that best fits how you want to use it. Key Features - Simple and easy to use right away You can start a summary from the toolbar, the right-click menu, or keyboard shortcuts. Choose whichever method fits your usual workflow. - Keyboard shortcuts - Summarize the current page: Ctrl + Shift + S - Open settings: Ctrl + Shift + O - Mac: Command + Shift + S / Command + Shift + O - Free and easy to get started Quick Summarize works with ChatGPT Free. You can start immediately without an API key. If needed, you can switch to the OpenAI API or OpenRouter. - Supported AI providers - ChatGPT - OpenAI API - OpenRouter With OpenRouter, you can use a variety of models such as Claude, Gemini, Llama, and DeepSeek. - Supports web pages and YouTube videos Summarize regular web pages, long-form articles, technical documentation, and YouTube videos directly in Chrome. For YouTube, the extension supports subtitle-based processing and includes fallback handling when subtitle data is incomplete. - Streaming display If the selected provider supports it, summaries can be shown progressively while they are being generated. You can start reading before the generation is fully complete. - Prompt editing and history You can adjust the system prompt and add extra instructions. Previous settings can be reused from history, and they can also be reset from the settings screen. - Easy-to-read interface The summary panel supports dragging and resizing. Light / Dark / Auto themes are also available for a comfortable viewing experience. - Privacy and settings control API keys are stored in Chrome storage. No API key is required when using ChatGPT Free. If you use the OpenAI API or OpenRouter, you can manage the endpoint and settings yourself.
