Overview

One-click composition search on ICSD. Open an ICSD link with #elements=U%20Te to auto-fill the form and run the query.

Quick Search for ICSD turns a chemical composition into a one-click search on the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD). ICSD's basic search runs as a session-based web app, so a plain URL can't launch a search. This extension bridges that: open an ICSD page with the elements in the URL hash, for example https://icsd.fiz-karlsruhe.de/search/basic.xhtml#elements=U%20Te, and it fills the Composition and Number of Elements fields and clicks Run Query for you. With no #elements= in the URL it does nothing, so normal ICSD use is unaffected. Handy for linking straight to an ICSD composition search from a lab notebook, a spreadsheet, or any internal page. Requirements: you must have your own ICSD access (institutional IP or credentials) and be logged in. This extension only automates the public search form — it does not provide or bypass access. Privacy: runs only on icsd.fiz-karlsruhe.de / icsd.products.fiz-karlsruhe.de, requests no extra permissions, makes no network calls, and collects or transmits nothing. Independent, unaffiliated tool. ICSD is a registered trademark of FIZ Karlsruhe.
