Quick Markdown Viewer
Overview
Renders local .md files GitHub-style when you open them in the browser (GFM, code highlighting, Mermaid, math).
Open a local Markdown file in your browser and read it the way GitHub shows it, instead of as plain text. • GitHub Flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks • GitHub's own styling, light or dark following your system setting • Syntax highlighting for code blocks • Math with KaTeX: $…$, $$…$$ and ```math blocks • Mermaid diagrams (flowcharts, sequence diagrams, gantt charts, …) • Heading anchors that match GitHub, so links like notes.md#setup land in the right place • YAML front matter shown as a code block Everything runs inside your browser. The extension makes no network requests and collects no data. Setup: after installing, turn on "Allow access to file URLs" for the extension (the extension opens that page for you on install). Without it, the browser does not let any extension read local files.
