Quick Image Saving via CSS Selector helps you download exactly the images you need from a webpage and package them into clean ZIP archives. Enter a CSS selector such as img.product-photo, optionally clean thumbnail text from image URLs with a regex, and choose whether to preserve original filenames. The redesigned popup provides clear validation, progress, history, and download results. Images are always saved in the format the website publishes. If a site shows your browser a converted WebP or AVIF copy, Quick Image Saving still saves the original PNG or JPEG behind it. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW TO USE — YOUR FIRST DOWNLOAD ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1. Open the page that has the images you want. 2. Click the Quick Image Saving icon in your toolbar. 3. In the Selector field, type which images to take. Start with: img That matches every image on the page. 4. Click Save to ZIP. The archive is built in your browser and downloaded. TAKE ONLY SOME IMAGES Make the selector more specific: img.product-photo images with the class product-photo #gallery img images inside the element with id gallery img[src*="/uploads/"] images whose address contains /uploads/ YOU ALWAYS GET THE ORIGINAL FILE, NOT THE WEBP COPY Many websites store a photo as PNG or JPEG and hand your browser a smaller WebP or AVIF copy to display. Quick Image Saving reads the address the page publishes, so the file that lands in your ZIP is the original — no setting to turn on. If a site publishes nothing but WebP, that WebP is saved instead, so a download never fails for this reason. This also covers galleries that load images as you scroll: the images are saved correctly even if you have not scrolled all the way down the page. Some websites convert an image to WebP but keep the old .png or .jpg address, so the address alone cannot be trusted. Quick Image Saving checks what actually arrives: if an address ending .png sends WebP, it keeps looking through the other addresses the page offers for that image, and saves the real PNG when one of them has it. When a site genuinely keeps no original, the WebP is saved under a matching name rather than a .png that no image editor would open. If that happens, the download summary says so, and the report file inside the ZIP repeats it with the exact address. Opening such an address in your browser is misleading — the tab is still titled .png, because browsers label a file by its address rather than its contents — so the extension tells you directly instead of leaving you to wonder. GET FULL-SIZE IMAGES INSTEAD OF THUMBNAILS Some sites deliver small previews by adding options to the image address, for example ?w=400, or a size in the filename such as photo-420x374.png. Open Clean image URLs, tick Use regex, and remove that part. \?.*$ removes everything after the "?" -\d+x\d+ removes a size such as -420x374 The original file is then requested instead of the preview. EVERY ZIP COMES WITH A REPORT Inside each archive there is a small text file, quick-image-saving-report.txt. It lists how many images were saved and from which page, the selector and regex you used, how many files of each format are inside, and the web address every single file came from. That last part is the useful one later: weeks after a download you can still tell exactly where any image came from. If a file was saved as WebP from an address ending .png, the report explains that case too. IF NOTHING DOWNLOADS Some sites block image requests made by the page itself. Set Cross-Origin Mode to Enabled and try again — the extension then requests the selected image addresses directly. Quick Image Saving works on regular http:// and https:// pages. On browser pages such as chrome://extensions, the Chrome Web Store, or local files it reports "Quick Image Saving cannot run on this page" — that is expected, just open a normal webpage and try again. GOOD TO KNOW Keep original names decides whether files keep their source filenames inside the ZIP.
