# Quick Capture — User Guide ## From capture to paste in 1 seconds The typical screenshot workflow looks like this: > Capture → save file → open Downloads folder → find the file → drag it over **Quick Capture cuts it down to two steps.** > **Select an area with Ctrl+Shift+X → paste with Ctrl+V. Done.** **Every capture is automatically copied to your clipboard the moment it's taken.** Just switch to your chat window and press Ctrl+V — no saving, no digging through the Downloads folder, no dragging files around. The more screenshots your work requires, the bigger the time savings — and if you don't need a file, nothing is written to disk, so your Downloads folder stays clean. --- ## Features **1. Area capture (the core feature · Ctrl+Shift+X)** Drag to select exactly the part of the screen you need. Pixel dimensions are shown live while selecting; press Esc to cancel. **2. Visible screen capture (Ctrl+Shift+Y)** Capture the entire visible tab in one shot. **3. Full-page scroll capture (Ctrl+Shift+U)** Automatically scrolls through a long page, captures it in segments, and stitches them into a single image. Sticky headers are handled automatically so they don't repeat. **4. Instant clipboard copy — always on** Every capture is automatically on your clipboard the instant it's taken. A **Ctrl+V** prompt appears at the bottom of the screen as a reminder. Switch to any app — messenger, document, email, AI chat — and paste. No setup required. **5. Auto-save** Optionally save the image to your chosen location the instant you capture, ready to drag from Chrome's download bubble. **6. Annotate before you paste** Mark up your capture before saving or copying: arrows, highlighter, rectangles, text, and mosaic (to hide personal info). Four colors, three stroke sizes, and undo (Ctrl+Z). When you finish, the edited image is what gets copied or saved. **7. Save location options** Downloads folder (default) / ask where to save every time / auto-save into a subfolder inside Downloads (e.g. `Downloads/Captures/`). **8. English / 한국어** Follows your browser language automatically, or pick a language manually in the popup. --- ## Quick start 1. Press **Ctrl+Shift+X** and drag to select an area 2. **Switch to your chat window and press Ctrl+V** — the image is already on your clipboard That's it. No configuration needed. --- ## Installation (developer mode) 1. Unzip the archive into any folder 2. Type `chrome://extensions` in Chrome's address bar 3. Turn on **Developer mode** (top right) 4. Click **Load unpacked** and select the unzipped folder Change shortcuts at `chrome://extensions/shortcuts`. --- ## FAQ **Q. Dragging the preview directly into some apps doesn't work.** For security reasons, drags that start inside a web page carry a "virtual file", and some applications only accept real files from disk. Use **Ctrl+V** instead — the image is already on your clipboard, so it's faster anyway. Dragging to the desktop or a file explorer window works normally. **Q. Some pages can't be captured.** Chrome forbids all extensions from capturing internal pages such as `chrome://` settings and the Chrome Web Store. **Q. Scroll capture takes a few seconds.** Chrome limits the capture API to 2 shots per second, so capture time grows with page length. --- ## Short description (under 132 characters) > Select an area, press Ctrl+V.
