Overview

Read every QR code on a page, including images and canvas. Decodes on your device and never opens a link on its own.

Read the QR codes that are already on the page. Most QR readers take a screenshot and look for one code in it. That fails on the things people actually hit. A code drawn into a canvas. Two codes on the same invoice. A small code in a corner of a long page. This one reads the page itself, so it finds every code rather than the first one, and it reads them from the original image rather than from a picture of your screen. WHAT IT DOES Finds every code on the page, not just one. Product pages, invoices and ticket confirmations often carry two or three. You get all of them, each labelled with where it came from. Reads codes a screenshot cannot. Codes inside an image, inside a canvas, or set as a CSS background are all read from their source, at full resolution. Reads a part of the screen when you want. Click Select an area and drag a box around anything, including a code in a video frame or a PDF viewer. Never opens a link on its own. It shows you the decoded address and waits for you to click. Nothing is followed automatically, and there is no countdown. Decodes on your device. The decoder is bundled into the extension. There is no account, no server, and nothing you scan is uploaded anywhere. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY activeTab and scripting are used to look at the page you are on, and only after you click the toolbar button. There is no browsing history permission and no all-sites host permission, so the extension cannot see pages you have not asked it to read. HISTORY IS OFF Nothing is recorded unless you turn on history in settings. When you do, it stays in local storage on this device and you can clear it whenever you like. OPEN SOURCE DECODER Decoding uses jsQR, an Apache-2.0 library, bundled unchanged. The licence ships inside the extension.
