Qalam 2.0 is an independent browser extension for students at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). It gives the Qalam portal a cleaner look, the analytics it is missing, and tools that save time. Everything works inside your browser, and nothing is sent to our server unless you turn on Class Insights for a course. ✨ KEY FEATURES 🎨 Cleaner Qalam and Dark Mode A tidier, modern look for the Qalam portal, with a full dark mode for late-night study sessions. 📊 Class Insights (opt-in, per course) Turn it on for a course to see where you stand: the class score distribution, the average and the spread, built from classmates who also share. With only a few sharers, the curve reflects only them. Your name, registration number and login are never sent. 🎯 Target Grade Predictor Pick the grade you want and see an estimate of what you need in the remaining quizzes, assignments and exams. Once a course is fully graded, see a projected final grade. 📅 Attendance Tracker See your attendance for every lecture and lab, and an estimate of how many more classes you can miss before falling under the 75% rule. ⚡ Popup Dashboard One click shows your grades, your next class and its room, predictions, a GPA calculator, and alerts for new marks and unpaid fee vouchers, without opening the portal. 🔔 Mark and Fee Alerts (optional) Get a desktop notification when a new mark is published or a fee voucher is due. 🔑 Auto Sign-In Save your Qalam login in your browser, encrypted, and Qalam 2.0 signs you in as soon as the login page opens. Your login is only ever sent to Qalam's own sign-in page. 📝 Survey Filler At the end of the semester, fill every course and faculty evaluation with the rating you choose, then review and submit them yourself. 📴 Offline Backup When Qalam is down, see your last saved grades, attendance and timetable instead of an error page. Plus marks history, a results summary and more. 🔒 PRIVACY • Everything stays in your browser by default. • Class Insights is off until you turn it on for a course. When it is on, Qalam 2.0 sends that course's marks (scores, totals and Qalam's published class averages), the course code, instructor name and semester to its own server, under an anonymous ID. The ID is a one-way hash of a private code from your own Qalam fee invoice list, so only your Qalam account can produce it: every browser you use gets the same ID, and nobody else can change, read or delete your shared marks. The invoice codes never leave your browser. Your marks in each course are stored under a separate ID. Your name, registration number, email and password are never sent. • Turning Class Insights off for a course in any browser deletes your marks for it right away and turns it off in your other browsers. During a semester, marks from a browser that stops syncing are removed automatically, usually within 7 to 21 days. Past semesters are kept as a record of how each course was graded. • While your browser is open, Qalam 2.0 contacts Qalam every 10 minutes to keep you signed in, and checks for new marks about every 4 hours. • No ads, no analytics, no trackers.
