QA Assistant
Overview
AI-powered QA locator generator with Side Panel support and automated element inspection.
Generate, verify, and auto-heal test automation locators in seconds with AI. QA Assistant empowers software quality engineers, test automation developers, and manual testers to quickly capture resilient locators directly within Chrome. With native Side Panel integration, inspect web elements without leaving your testing workflow or obscuring page content. FEATURES • Point & Click Element Inspection — Click any button, input, or container on your test site to analyze its DOM structure and attributes. • Multi-Engine AI Locator Generation — Generates robust locators for Playwright (getByRole, getByTestId, locator), Cypress, and Selenium (XPath & CSS). • Real-Time In-Page Verification — Validate locators immediately. See instant visual badges showing whether a locator uniquely identifies a single element (1), is brittle (>1), or broken (0). • Smart Self-Healing & Memory — If an element changes, auto-heal broken locators using AI analysis and save proven selector patterns to your persistent Knowledge Base. • Multiple AI Provider Support — Connect directly to local AI via Ollama (100% private, runs on your own machine), or connect to OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini using your personal API keys. • Page Freeze Tool — Pause hover states, dynamic dropdowns, tooltips, and flyout menus with a 3-second countdown to easily inspect ephemeral UI elements. • Native Dark & Light UI — Matches Chrome's clean theme with seamless contrast and collapsible panels. HOW TO USE 1. Click the QA Assistant icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the Side Panel. 2. Navigate to any web page or staging application you are testing. 3. Click "Analyze Element" and click the element on your web page. 4. Review generated Playwright, CSS, and XPath locators in the panel. 5. Click "Verify" to validate uniqueness, or copy code directly into your test suite. PRIVACY & SECURITY QA Assistant operates locally. Your browsing data and web page snippets are never collected, tracked, or sent to third-party tracking servers. When using AI generation, element data is transmitted strictly to your chosen AI engine (such as your own local Ollama instance or your personal cloud AI provider). PERMISSIONS • "Side Panel": Displays the QA locator tool side-by-side with your test web application. • "Storage": Saves your chosen AI model configurations and locator rules locally on your device. • "Scripting": Injects the inspection highlight and locator verification tools on demand only when you click Analyze Element. • "Host Permissions (All Sites)": Enables QA engineers to inspect and test web applications across any staging, internal, or production website, and connect to local AI servers (such as Ollama).
