q/ shortcuts
Overview
Type q/<phrase> in the address bar to jump to a URL you've mapped.
q/ shortcuts turns Chrome's address bar into a personal command palette. Map a phrase once, then type q/<phrase> + Enter from anywhere — the new tab page, a search box, the omnibox — and you'll jump straight to the URL you set. No bookmarks bar clutter, no fuzzy history search, no hand-typed URLs. EXAMPLES q/gh → https://github.com q/cal → https://calendar.google.com q/pr → https://github.com/your-org/your-repo/pulls q/aws → https://console.aws.amazon.com HOW IT WORKS 1. Type q/<phrase> in the address bar and hit Enter. 2. Chrome will either try http://q/<phrase> directly or send q/<phrase> to your default search engine — both are intercepted. 3. The phrase is looked up in your mapping table and you're redirected. 4. If there's no mapping yet, the options page opens so you can add one on the spot. FEATURES • Works from the omnibox, the new tab page, and any search box. • Phrase lookup is case-insensitive when no exact match exists. • Mappings sync across your Chrome profile via chrome.storage.sync. • Clean options page for adding, editing, and removing shortcuts. • Zero tracking. Zero network calls. Your mappings never leave your browser. PERMISSIONS • webNavigation — to detect when you've typed a q/ phrase and redirect you. • storage — to save your shortcuts and sync them across devices. No host permissions. No access to the contents of any page. Open source and auditable.
