Overview

Package any PWA into a Microsoft Store MSIX in your browser. A simple PWA-to-MSIX packager for Store upload & sideloading.

Turn any PWA into a Microsoft Store MSIX package — right in your browser. Simple PWA Builder is a lightweight PWA-to-MSIX packager: open a Progressive Web App, click once, and download a ready-to-submit .msix for the Microsoft Store. No server, no upload, no account. WHAT IT DOES • Detects the current site's web app manifest, name, icons and start URL automatically. • Lets you pick which manifest icon to use, then generates all ~80 Store image sizes from it. • Produces a Store-ready .msix package (Edge "Hosted App" model) — upload it in Partner Center and Microsoft signs it for you. • Optionally builds a Test package (.zip) with a one-click Install.cmd that self-signs and installs the app locally for testing (needs the Windows SDK and Microsoft Edge). WHY USE IT • 100% in-browser — nothing is sent to any server, no tracking, no sign-in. • A fast alternative to manual MSIX packaging or full toolchains for getting a PWA into the Microsoft Store. • Free and open. GOOD TO KNOW A valid Store submission needs an app reserved in Microsoft Partner Center (for the Identity Name and Publisher values). The extension shows exactly where to copy them from. PERMISSIONS • activeTab + scripting — read the current tab's manifest/icon only when you click the extension. No background or cross-tab access. • storage — remember recently used identity values and pass detected site info from the popup to the builder (local only). No host permissions are requested. Files are saved via the standard browser download API (no chrome.downloads permission required).
