Push to Talk for Google Meet. Press down and hold onto the <space> in Google Meet to talk, this extension is similar to having a walkie talkie. Once you have finished speaking, just let go of the <space bar> and you'll be automatically on Mute. Our extension works well for hangouts meet The main benefit of this extension is you automatically mute yourself after speaking and do not have to keep pressing the mute/unmute button using the mouse. You can unmute yourself using the keyboard instead. If you do not wish to use the space bar as the hotkey, you can configure your own hotkey instead. Using space bar for push to talk makes me think you never actually used push to talk, you bind that to one of the function keys not a key that does something unintentionally while you're trying to talk.
