)Overview
Blocks ads at the network level, then fills the leftover space with cats.
Purrblock quietly blocks ads across the web — and fills the empty space with a hand-drawn cat. No more flashing banners, and no more broken gray boxes where an ad used to be. Every slot Purrblock clears becomes a little procedurally generated cat: a different coat, a different pose, and a different one-liner every time. WHAT IT DOES • Blocks requests to around 40 major ad and ad-tracking networks before they ever load. • Replaces leftover ad containers on the page with original cat illustrations, so your layout never collapses into blank rectangles. • Keeps a running tally of the cats you've "deployed," shown on a collar-tag counter in the popup. • Gives you a one-tap on/off switch and a live per-page count. HOW IT WORKS — TWO QUIET LAYERS 1. Network layer: a Manifest V3 declarativeNetRequest ruleset stops known ad-network requests at the browser level. Nothing about those requests is read, logged, or sent anywhere. 2. Page layer: a lightweight content script looks for common ad containers and swaps them for an inline SVG cat, drawn fresh in your browser. Six coats, three poses, endless combinations. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most blockers leave a hole where the ad was. Purrblock leaves a cat. It's built to be gentle: it uses careful, token-based matching so everyday page elements — navigation, addresses, "ad-free" notices and the like — are left alone. PRIVACY Purrblock runs 100% on your device. There's no account, no server, and no analytics. It does not collect, store, or transmit any browsing data. The only things it saves are your on/off preference and a local cat counter, both kept in your own browser. HONEST LIMITATIONS • Purrblock is a lightweight, playful blocker, not a full replacement for a comprehensive filtering tool. It targets a curated list of ad networks rather than every tracker on the internet. • It cannot block ads that play inside video players. • Some first-party "native" sponsored content is intentionally left in place. • When you switch Purrblock off, pages that already have cats keep them until you reload. Install it, watch your cat count climb, and enjoy a calmer, fuzzier web.
