Purple irises have a characteristic color with delicate, soft petals, mainly purple, with a hint of green at the tips. Each flower is shaped like a bell, with three large petals on top and three smaller petals on the bottom. The center of the flower has a bright yellow spot, creating a prominent highlight. The iris leaves are long and thin, growing around the flower stem, and are dark green. Purple irises grow in clusters, forming very beautiful and elegant flower clusters. Purple irises are suitable for humid environments, grown in cool climates.
