Overview

Clear cache and site data fast, with a security check on the current site first.

Purge — Clear cache and site data fast, with a security check first Purge clears cookies, cache, and site storage in one click — and unlike most cleaner extensions, it looks at the page you're on before wiping anything, so you're not clearing data blind on a site that might be trying to steal it. What it does - One-click clearing of HTTP cache, cookies, cache storage, IndexedDB, local storage, file systems, and service workers — scoped to the active tab only, or across all sites. - Browser-level cleanup for downloads, form data, history, and saved passwords, when you want a deeper clean. - A security check before you clear. Purge scans the current tab for signals that correlate with phishing or injected content — spoofed domains, credential forms posting to another origin, password fields on unencrypted pages, reflected URL parameters, and more — and shows you what it found before the clear runs. Use "Test this site" to run the scan on its own, any time. - Flexible time ranges — clear the last 15 minutes, hour, day, week, month, or everything. - Automation — clear on an interval, on browser startup, or when the system goes idle, with no prompts interrupting your flow. - A confirm step before clearing (optional), so a stray click never wipes your passwords by accident. - Settings sync across your devices, plus export/import for backups. - A keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+P by default) for clearing without opening the popup. Why it exists Most "clear browsing data" extensions do one thing: delete data. Purge adds a step most people skip — checking the site itself. If you're about to clear cookies on a page that's phishing you, or that's quietly posting your login to a different domain, Purge flags it first instead of just clearing and moving on. The scan is a heuristic, not a guarantee — it looks for known risk signals and tells you plainly what it checked and what it found, rather than pretending to certify a site as "safe." Beyond that, Purge is built for people who clear site data often: developers testing logged-out states, privacy-conscious users clearing trackers between sessions, or anyone tired of digging through chrome://settings/clearBrowserData every time. Active-tab-only scoping means you can clear just the site you're working on without nuking cookies everywhere else. Permissions, plainly Purge requests browsingData, storage, activeTab, scripting, tabs, alarms, idle, and notifications to do the clearing, scanning, and automation described above. The optional cookies permission is only used for one extra security check (flagging cookies missing Secure/SameSite attributes) — Purge works fully without granting it. --- A few notes before you paste this in: - Chrome Web Store descriptions render as plain text (no markdown bold/headers) — I'd suggest replacing **bold** with actual line breaks/caps, or plain paragraphs, when you paste it in. Want me to produce a plain-text version formatted for the actual textarea? - You'll also need short/promo description fields, screenshots, and a privacy practices justification for each permission — I can draft those too if useful.
