pureTabs – A Clean, Private, and Customizable New Tab Extension for Ultimate Browser Productivity pureTabs reimagines your browser's new tab page into a highly interactive and personalized workspace designed for seamless tab and icon management. Tailored for users who value privacy, organization, and performance, pureTabs offers an elegant solution that combines smooth drag-and-drop functionality, extensive customization options, and private data synchronization without requiring any registration or login. This extension is optimized for users juggling multiple projects or frequently accessing numerous web resources, helping to simplify navigation while enhancing browsing efficiency. At its core, pureTabs presents a beautifully minimalist interface empowered by advanced technology—built with Vue 3, TypeScript, Vite, and styled using Tailwind CSS, it delivers a fast, responsive, and visually appealing experience. The extension supports flexible grid customization, allowing you to adjust the number of rows and columns (ranging from 3×2 up to 10×8), icon sizes, spacing, and page margins. This adaptability makes pureTabs suitable for all kinds of usage scenarios, whether on desktop or lower-performance devices, thanks to its virtualized drag-and-drop algorithm ensuring smooth interaction. Intuitive icon management is a hallmark of pureTabs. You can add new icons easily by entering the control center via the gear button and choosing from automatic URL fetching or custom designs. Editing icons is straightforward with right-click context menus to rename, modify links, or change logos on the fly. For further organization, pureTabs introduces a powerful folder system: create folders by right-clicking icons, rename them, move icons in or out with drag-and-drop or context menu commands, and dissolve folders when no longer needed—all ensuring your workspace remains tidy and highly navigable. Privacy is central to the pureTabs experience. All user data—icon layouts, folders, and configurations—are stored locally within the browser or optionally uploaded to a private, user-configurable Cloudflare D1 + Worker setup for cross-device synchronization. This cloud sync method requires no third-party login or tracking, giving users full control over their data. For convenience and safety, pureTabs also supports manual backup and restore via one-click export/import of JSON files, so you can archive configurations or migrate setups effortlessly. pureTabs also caters to aesthetics and personalization: you can upload custom wallpapers to use as tab backgrounds and choose icon styles that reflect your preferences. The interface is designed for distraction-free productivity while providing quick access to favorite links and workflows. Whether you're a student managing research tabs, a professional handling multiple projects, or a power user streamlining daily browsing, pureTabs adapts dynamically to your needs.
