Psst is a private chat that floats in the corner of any page you visit. Talk one-on-one, in groups or through channels without leaving the site you're on, and with end-to-end encryption on every message, file and call. MESSAGES THAT DON'T STAY ON THE SERVER Your message is encrypted on your computer before it's sent. The server only holds the encrypted copy until it's delivered, and then deletes it. In a group, it's deleted once every member has received it. You'll see "Delivered and erased from the server" when it's gone. CHAT WITHOUT LEAVING THE PAGE • A floating window in the bottom-right corner that you can drag, resize and minimize • Adjustable transparency, accent colors, light and dark themes, and text size • Open or close it from the toolbar icon or with Alt+Shift+M • Hide it on specific sites, or open the chat in a full tab whenever you want PHOTOS, VOICE, VIDEOS, STICKERS AND FILES • Send photos, videos, audio, voice messages, stickers and documents of any format, up to 25 MB each • Files are compressed on your computer before upload: photos to WebP, audio to Opus, and documents with lossless compression, so they arrive exactly as you sent them • Each file is encrypted and erased from the server as soon as the last recipient downloads it • A built-in sticker pack, plus your own stickers made from any image • Drag and drop, paste images, or record a voice message with one click VOICE CALLS • One-on-one voice calls that work like a regular phone call: ringtone, answer or decline, mute, call timer and call history • Audio goes directly between the two browsers, with encrypted call setup SOUNDS YOUR WAY • Different alert sounds for direct chats and groups • A custom sound for each contact or group • Choose your ringtone GROUPS, CHANNELS AND SECRETARIES • Public groups anyone can find, and private groups you can only join by invitation • One-way channels for announcements, where only admins post • Secretary: set up a contact like "Support" with departments that lead to people or groups. Whoever writes picks the department before sending, and the message goes encrypted straight to the right place. The secretary routes it but can never read it. KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO • A unique nickname is your identity. No phone number, no email • Compare a 60-digit safety code with your contact. If someone's key ever changes, Psst warns you and holds your messages until you check PRIVACY BY DESIGN • Your password never leaves your browser. Only a derived key is sent to sign you in • Your private key is stored encrypted, and only your password can unlock it • History is kept only on your device, isolated from the pages you visit • No ads, no tracking, no reading of the pages you browse AVAILABLE IN 5 LANGUAGES English, Português (Brasil), Español, Français and Русский. GOOD TO KNOW • Because messages are erased after delivery, each one reaches one device of the recipient, the first one that syncs • There is no password recovery.
