Overview
Route Chrome through your own SOCKS5/HTTP proxy, reduce WebRTC IP leaks, and check your live IP, location and ISP.
Proxy Switcher & IP Checker turns Chrome's proxy settings into a single switch and adds the safety net that most switchers are missing. IMPORTANT: This extension does not provide proxy servers. There is no server list and nothing built in. You supply your own: a client you run locally, or a remote server you own or subscribe to. WHAT IT DOES • Switch in one click Point Chrome at any SOCKS5, SOCKS4, HTTP or HTTPS proxy. Set the host, port and bypass list yourself. Turn it off and Chrome hands control straight back to your system settings. • It checks before it commits After you switch on, the extension verifies the tunnel actually carries traffic. If nothing answers, it clears the proxy within about five seconds, switches itself back off, and tells you why. You never end up staring at a dead browser wondering what broke. • It recovers on its own If your server disappears while you are connected, Chrome reports the failure, the extension restores your direct connection and sends you a notification. • Test without committing Try a candidate server from the editor. Whatever the result, your previous state is restored exactly as it was. • See your real exit IP IP address, IPv4/IPv6, country, city, region, ISP, organization, ASN and timezone — so you can confirm the routing is doing what you think it is, instead of assuming. • WebRTC leak protection, three levels Off, Medium (hides private and local addresses, recommended) and Strict (forces WebRTC down the proxy path). Chrome offers no way to disable WebRTC completely; Strict is the most restrictive setting the browser exposes. PRIVACY No account. No sign-up. No analytics, telemetry or tracking of any kind. No data is sent to the developer there is no server to send it to. Your settings stay in your own browser, in chrome.storage.local, and are never uploaded. The only outbound request goes to the public lookup service ipwho.is, so the popup can report the IP address the internet currently sees. It carries no parameters and no identifiers. PERMISSIONS proxy — set and clear Chrome's proxy configuration. This is the core function. privacy — read and set the WebRTC IP handling policy. storage — remember your server profile and preferences locally. notifications — warn you when the server becomes unreachable. ipwho.is — the IP lookup and the reachability check. No tabs permission. No content scripts. No access to the pages you browse. Removing the extension restores everything: Chrome reverts every proxy and WebRTC setting it applied. Requires Chrome 116 or later. Manifest V3, no remote code. Developed by Roham Rajabzadeh. Privacy policy: https://covertrader.com/chrome-extension/privacy-policy/
