Proxy Flipper
Overview
Toggle a single HTTP proxy from the browser toolbar.
Proxy Flipper is a small utility for people who already run or trust an HTTP proxy. Configure one endpoint, then click the toolbar button whenever you want to route browser traffic through it or return to your normal connection. It is not a VPN and not a proxy service. There is no included endpoint, no account, and no server on our side. Proxy Flipper connects to nothing except the host and port you enter. The badge always reports the state Chromium confirms, not the state that was requested: ON when routed, OFF when normal, SET when no endpoint is configured yet, and ERR when Chromium refused the change. LOCK is the one worth knowing about. When browser policy or another extension owns the proxy setting, Proxy Flipper cannot change it — so it says so and disables its own toggle rather than failing quietly and leaving you unsure which way your traffic is going. Your endpoint and last choice are stored locally and survive a restart. An enabled proxy is reapplied on browser startup. Proxy Flipper requests no access to page contents, tabs, browsing history, or cookies, and it makes no network requests of its own. It cannot see the traffic it routes — Chromium does the routing, and Proxy Flipper only flips the switch. No proxy credentials, PAC files, profiles, per-site rules, or URL routing. One endpoint, one toggle.
