Overview
Ephemeral 1:1 chat matched by rough location and language. No messages or contacts are stored on the server.
Proximity Chat matches you with people near your physical location who speak your language — all inside a Chrome side panel. 🔒 Privacy-first: No messages are ever stored. No accounts. No tracking. Everything disappears when you disconnect. 🌍 How it works: • Your city is detected automatically from your IP — not GPS • Choose your preferred language • Hit "Find Chat" to match with someone nearby • Chat in real-time — messages relay directly, never stored • Close the panel or end the chat — gone forever ✨ Features: • Auto-match with the closest person who speaks your language • Browse nearby people and pick who to chat with • Save contacts to reconnect later • Typing indicators and read receipts • Beautiful dark-mode UI with glassmorphism design • Works in 14 languages: Arabic, English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Urdu, Chinese 🚫 What we DON'T do: • No message logging or chat history — zero data retention • No GPS or precise location tracking — city-level only • No user accounts, passwords, or databases • No ads, no tracking pixels, no data selling • No cookies 💡 Use cases: • Travelers — chat with locals who speak your language • Students — find study partners on campus • Conference attendees — network without awkward badge scanning • Language practice — practice with someone actually in your city • Coworking spaces — connect with people working nearby Built on Cloudflare Workers with Durable Objects. Server processes city-level location data in memory only. When your WebSocket closes, your data is gone — permanently. Open source architecture. Privacy by design. Zero knowledge.
