Protocol Page Check is a lightweight website QA tool by Eric Yim. Click the extension on a web page to inspect its metadata, heading structure, and image alt attributes before you ship. CHECK THE BASICS Review page title, meta description, canonical URL, robots meta directives, mobile viewport, page language, and Open Graph preview tags. Expand a check to see its details. READ THE PAGE STRUCTURE See headings in document order, spot skipped levels and empty headings, and review image alt attributes. Empty alt text is labeled separately because it may be appropriate for decorative images. TAKE A REPORT WITH YOU Download a JSON snapshot of the findings to your device. Scan Again refreshes the report after page changes. LOCAL BY DESIGN Page URLs, metadata, heading text, image source URLs, and alt attributes are processed only in your browser after you click the extension. There is no analytics, account, advertising, background monitoring, or upload of your page content. Only activeTab and scripting permissions are used. Reports are kept in popup memory until you close it, unless you choose to save a file. URL queries and fragments are omitted from the report. Works on ordinary HTTP and HTTPS pages, including eric-yim.com and local development sites. Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, PDFs that Chrome protects, and other restricted pages cannot be inspected. This is a quick check of the rendered main document. It does not check HTTP headers, robots.txt, network status, performance, iframes, or shadow roots. It does not provide an SEO score or accessibility certification. Heading and image lists are limited to 300 items each; totals include all matching elements. Use the results as a starting point for manual review.
