PromptLeaf
Overview
Track your AI footprint in real-time
Every AI conversation has a real-world footprint — PromptLeaf makes it visible. PromptLeaf is a lightweight browser extension that estimates the carbon and water footprint of your ChatGPT and Claude usage, right as you chat. Log a prompt with one click, and watch a tree on your personal dashboard reflect your weekly impact — flourishing when your usage is light, and under visible strain when it climbs. How it works: • PromptLeaf counts the words you type into ChatGPT or Claude, entirely inside your own browser. • That word count is used to estimate the CO2 and water associated with the prompt. • Click "Log This Prompt" after sending a message to save it to your dashboard. • Your dashboard (promptleaf.co.uk) shows your running weekly totals and a tree that grows or wilts with your usage. What PromptLeaf never does: • It never reads, stores, or transmits the actual text of your prompts or the AI's replies — only a word count. • It doesn't track you anywhere except chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, and claude.ai. • No ads, no third-party trackers, no selling data. PromptLeaf is for anyone curious about the environmental cost of their everyday AI use from students, professionals, or anyone who just wants a clearer picture of their digital footprint.
