Overview
Finds promo codes and tries them in your cart. A code is marked worked only if your total drops. Plus the same item at other stores.
PromoIQ is a coupon finder and price comparison tool that does nothing until you click it. Click its icon on a store page and it shows promo codes for that store with the proof behind each one, tries them in your cart when you ask, and looks for the exact same product at other stores. What PromoIQ sends: only after you click it, the store's web domain and, on a product page, the product details. Daily anonymous counts (seven numbers, no ID) are on by default to measure how well codes and price checks work; turn them off in Settings. Sharing which codes worked is off unless you turn it on. Full list: https://promoiq.co/privacy IN SHORT - Promo codes and coupon codes for the store you are on, each labeled with where it came from and when. - At checkout, "Try these codes for me" enters the codes one at a time and keeps the one that lowers your total the most. - A straight answer when nothing works, for example "None of the 6 codes PromoIQ tried lowered your total." - The exact same product at other US stores, lowest total price first, with direct links to each store's product page. - The store's own discount programs, for example for students, teachers or the military, with a link to the store's page. - No affiliate links, no account, and nothing runs until you click. WHAT IT DOES Click the PromoIQ icon (or press Alt+P, Option+P on a Mac). A side panel opens next to the page and shows: - Codes for this store, grouped by how much proof is behind each one. - On a cart or checkout page, a "Try these codes for me" button. - On a product page, the same product at other stores, lowest total price first. - When no code lowers your total, an offer to check the items in your cart at other stores. PromoIQ is not limited to a list of stores. It reads the page you click it on, and only that page, including stores it has no special rules for. On Shopify stores it also reads that product's public record from the store's own site: one request to the same site, never sent to PromoIQ. CODES WITH PROOF Many codes posted online have expired or come with conditions, so PromoIQ never calls them all "working." Each code sits in one of four groups, plus one optional group: - Worked just now in your cart: PromoIQ applied it and saw your order total go down. - Worked for PromoIQ shoppers: shoppers who chose to share results saw it lower their total in the last 30 days. The panel says how many days ago. - From the store's own site: printed on the page you are on or on another page of the store you opened earlier ("Seen on this store's site"), or published by the store. Not tested yet. - Found online, untested: found on another website, with that site's name and the date. - Common codes to try: codes many stores use that were not found for this store. They are tried only if you tick the box to also try common codes. When a store offers a discount for signing up, the panel shows it as "Store offer, not a code", in the store's own words. When a store has a discount program, for example for students, teachers or the military, the panel shows it in the store's own words with a link to the store's page. It is not a code, and PromoIQ never tries it. A code PromoIQ tried in your cart that did not lower the total moves to "Tried in your cart". "Worked" only ever means PromoIQ saw a checkout total drop. IT TRIES THE CODES FOR YOU On a cart or checkout page, press "Try these codes for me." PromoIQ types up to 12 codes found for this store into the store's code box (plus up to 12 common codes if you tick that box, so 24 at most), one at a time, and reads your order total after each. It takes off the codes that did not help and leaves the best one applied, with a live log of every step. If the store lets codes combine, PromoIQ then tries the next best code on top of the best one and keeps both only if your total drops further, for example "GET20 + EXTRA20 saved you $40.00". It never takes your own code off to do this. Before it says what you saved, it reads your total once more, and if the total doesn't show the saving, it says it couldn't confirm it. If a store won't let a code be removed, the panel tells you which code is still there. If your cart already had a code, it compares that code fairly and puts it back if nothing beats it. Your own code is shown as "Your code", never as something PromoIQ found. If a code saves more than yours and the store won't combine them, the better one stays, and the log says so. If none of the codes it tried lowers your total, it says exactly that, for example "None of the 6 codes PromoIQ tried lowered your total." A code PromoIQ didn't find may still work. Then it offers to check the items in your cart: tap "Check up to 3 items" and PromoIQ looks for each one, the exact same item, at other stores for less, with direct links. It sends the same product details as a product page check, never your cart total or quantities. Trying codes works on carts in US dollars for now. It stops when the store needs you, for example to sign in or finish a security check. If the store reloads the page during a run, click the icon again to keep going. It never places an order and never reads or fills in payment, address or account details. Some checkouts hide the code box or work in ways it cannot read. When that happens the panel says so, and you can still copy any code. THE SAME PRODUCT AT OTHER STORES On a product page, PromoIQ reads the product from the page (name, brand, model, part number, barcode and store item numbers, price, currency, condition, and the color, size or option you picked) and looks for the exact same item at other stores, matched by barcode, by brand and model, or by brand and exact name. On stores PromoIQ has no special rules for, it reads the product as the page shows it and says "We read this as", with one tap to pick another name or price the page shows. Then a listing that matches by name alone is shown as "Similar, not identical", closed, never as the same product. It shows up to five offers with price, condition and shipping when known, each linking straight to that store's own product page. If nothing matches exactly, it says "No exact match found at other stores" instead of showing look-alikes. Price checks cover new items at stores in the United States, in US dollars. When it cannot compare a page, for example because the page shows no brand, the panel says why. On a store whose codes keep failing, other stores' prices come first. If PromoIQ can't read a page any other way and Chrome's built-in AI is already on your computer, PromoIQ can use it to read the page. The AI runs on your computer; the page's text never leaves it. This is on by default; turn it off in Settings ("Use on-device AI when available"). PRIVATE BY DESIGN - PromoIQ does nothing on a page and sends nothing until you click its icon. Then it reads only that page. On Shopify stores it also reads that product's public record from the store's own site: one request to the same site, never sent to PromoIQ. - No account and no sign-in. - To find codes, it sends the store's web domain (for example target.com). On a product page it also sends the product details listed above, to compare prices. It never sends the page's web address, cookies, your cart or its total, or anything you type. - Only if you tap "Check up to 3 items" in your cart, it sends those same product details for up to three cart items, one at a time. Never your cart total, quantities or item links. - On Shopify stores it asks the store's own website for the product's public details, such as its barcode. That request goes only to the store you are on. - Codes printed on a store's pages are remembered on your computer until you close the browser (at most 24 hours), to offer them at that store's checkout. They are never sent. - On-device AI is on by default and runs only when PromoIQ's own rules can't read a page; the page's text never leaves your computer. Turn it off in Settings. - Code lookups and price checks carry no ID or account. - "Share which codes worked" is off unless you turn it on. When on, it sends the store's web domain and, for each code found for this store that it tried, the code, whether it worked, and a rough savings range. Never a code you entered yourself, unless you tap "Share that it worked" when PromoIQ asks, once, after your own code lowered your total. Nothing is sent before that tap. - "Send daily anonymous counts" is on by default. It sends seven numbers for each day you use PromoIQ (such as how many codes were shown and how many worked), plus the date, the PromoIQ version and whether it is the store version. No ID, web addresses, store names or product names. Turn it off in Settings; that also deletes counts not yet sent. - The panel's "What PromoIQ sent for this check" lists exactly what each check sent. In this listing's privacy section, the store domain counts as web history, the product details as website content, and the daily counts as user activity. NO AFFILIATE LINKS PromoIQ earns nothing from what you buy. Every link goes straight to the store's own product page, offers are sorted by total price only, and it never adds a referral to any link, and the links it shows carry no tracking, campaign, partner or affiliate parameters. Some codes PromoIQ finds online are creator or partner codes; the store may credit the person who shared them. PromoIQ earns nothing from any code, tries codes only when you press "Try these codes for me", and never replaces a code you applied unless one saves more. PERMISSIONS - activeTab and scripting: read the tab you click PromoIQ on and, when you ask, try codes in that store's code box. - storage: keep on your device your settings (the two sharing switches and the on-device AI switch), any daily counts not yet sent, short notes (that the first-run page was shown, which tab you clicked) and, only while a run has your own code off your cart, a note of that run (the store's web domain and name, the currency, your code, the codes the run tries, the best one with its saving, and the time), deleted when your code is back or the run ends; and, only until you close the browser, a session-only memory of codes printed on a store's pages and of which codes PromoIQ tried there. It also keeps short scrambled notes (not the codes) of which of your own codes PromoIQ already offered to share, and one note so it asks you to rate or share PromoIQ only once (dates and a count, nothing about stores or codes). None of it is sent. - sidePanel: show the PromoIQ panel next to the page. - PromoIQ asks for no access to any website when you add it, and Chrome shows no permission warning. SWITCHING FROM ANOTHER COUPON EXTENSION If you are switching from another coupon extension: PromoIQ has no affiliate links, needs no account and does nothing on a page until you click it. When none of the codes it tried lowered your total, it says so instead of showing a saving. WHAT IT CANNOT PROMISE PromoIQ cannot promise that a working code exists for your cart, that it can try codes on every checkout, or that it finds an exact match for every product. When it cannot do something, it tells you why.
