Profile Manager

Overview
Manage Salesforce Profile permissions locally on .profile-meta.xml files, or by connecting directly to your org.
Profile Manager lets Salesforce admins and developers view, compare, and edit Profile permissions without hand-editing XML or waiting on a full metadata retrieve. Work locally on .profile-meta.xml files from a sandbox/version-control checkout, or connect directly to a live org using a session you're already logged into — no separate login, no server, no account. WHY INSTALL IT Editing a Profile's XML by hand is slow and error-prone: permission blocks are verbose, hard to diff, and easy to break with a stray tag. Profile Manager turns that into a guided workflow — pick profiles, pick a permission type, edit a focused snippet, and apply it to one profile or many at once, locally or straight to your org. TWO WAYS TO WORK • Local mode — open a folder of .profile-meta.xml files (e.g. a Salesforce DX project) and edit them directly on disk through the browser's File System Access API. Nothing leaves your machine. • Salesforce mode — connect to an org using a Session ID, either pasted manually or auto-detected from an already-open Salesforce tab in your browser. Fetch, compare, edit, and deploy Profile permissions directly against the org's Metadata API. COMPARE PROFILES, VISUALLY Select any two profiles and see exactly what differs — grouped by category (object permissions, field permissions, Apex class access, tabs, and more) in clean, collapsible sections, with an "expand/collapse all" toggle. Prefer the raw text? Switch to a side-by-side XML diff instead. FULL PROFILE VIEWER Open a single profile and browse its entire permission set organized the same way — no more scrolling through thousands of lines of flat XML to find what a profile actually grants. 23 PERMISSION CATEGORIES, YOUR CHOICE Object and field permissions, Apex class/page access, tabs, applications, record types, layout assignments, custom permissions, login IP ranges and hours, user permissions, and more — 23 categories across 6 themed sections, each with its own switch. Turn a category off and it disappears from the view; when it depends on fetching extra metadata from the org, turning it off also skips downloading it, so retrieval is genuinely faster the more you narrow down. BULK APPLY & PROFILE GROUPS Apply a permission change to one profile or fifty at once. Save frequently-used sets of profiles as named groups so you don't have to reselect them every time. SMART FORMATTING Choose a minimal patch that touches only the block you changed — safest for version control diffs — or a full reformat that reorders and tidies the entire file. DOWNLOAD PROFILES FROM SALESFORCE Connected to an org, download any profile's XML straight to a file — handy for backups, code review, or moving a profile into a version-controlled project. BUILT FOR SPEED AND CLARITY A branded loading indicator keeps you informed while metadata is retrieved, every completed action is logged and confirmed with a toast notification, and the whole interface is available in English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish — detected automatically or chosen manually in Settings. Light and dark themes are both fully supported. PRIVACY, BY DESIGN Profile Manager has no server of its own and collects nothing. Your session is read directly from the browser and used only to call Salesforce's own APIs from your browser to your org — never sent anywhere else, never stored. In local mode, files never leave your device. Profile Manager is an independent, third-party project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Salesforce, Inc. "Salesforce" is a trademark of Salesforce, Inc.
