Overview

Enhances professor pages with publicly available academic information.

Before you lock in your schedule, you check the professor. You read the ratings and the reviews, then go search Reddit to see what people said there, then maybe look them up on LinkedIn. That's a few tabs and a few searches for every section you're considering. Prof Lookup puts that on the page you're already on. Open any professor's page and a sidebar appears with Reddit posts about them, already found. You see the subreddit, the date, the comment count, and a preview, so you can tell if a post is worth opening. One more click runs a Google search for their LinkedIn. Same checking you were going to do anyway, without the searching. For CUNY students: Baruch, Hunter, and Queens professors get their campus subreddit searched alongside r/CUNY, so the posts you see are from people who actually took the class. Every other school searches Reddit as a whole, so it works on any professor page anywhere. If nobody has posted about a professor, the sidebar tells you that instead of leaving you wondering. It collapses into a small tab when you don't need it and remembers your theme. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics. It reads public Reddit posts and saves your preferences in your own browser. Built by two CUNY students who got tired of doing this by hand.
