Overview
Chat about the page you are on in a side panel, and let the Privateer agent act on it — approving each action, or unattended.
Privateer puts your AI assistant in a Chrome side panel, beside the page you are already reading — and, when you ask it to, lets it work that page for you one approved action at a time. You do not need an account to try it. Install it, open the panel, and it works — twenty free messages a day, on a zero-data-retention model, with nothing stored on our servers or on your device. Sign in when you want it to do more; it is the same account as the Privateer app, and the chats you start in the panel then show up on your phone and on the web. WHAT IT DOES • Chat about the page you are on. Attach the current tab in one click and ask about it: summarise this, what does this clause commit me to, where is the pricing on this page, what changed since I last looked. This part works as a guest. • Act on the page, with you in the loop. Click, type, scroll, navigate and open tabs are things the assistant can do — and every one of them raises an approval row in the conversation before it happens. You approve or you decline. There is no per-site "always allow", because on the open web the next page is not the last one. This part needs an account. • Lower the gate yourself, if you want to. A three-position control sits under the composer: Read only, Ask each time, No quarter. "No quarter" runs approved-in-advance actions without stopping to ask — with a red banner up the whole time, every action still listed in the thread, and a count of what ran unasked at the end of the answer. It is your switch, not the model's: nothing in a page and nothing in a model's reply can arm it. Closing the browser raises the gate again. • Get results as tabs, not as a list of links. Ask it to find five running shoes between £50 and £150 and it opens each one in its own background tab, grouped and labelled, with a card in the panel saying what each one is and why it made the list — press a card to go to that page, or close the whole set in one click. Opening a page is not reading it: the assistant can only see a tab you attach. This part needs an account. • Rebuild a page. Ask it to copy a site and it reads the layout, type and colour of what is on screen and writes you one self-contained HTML document, saved to your Privateer library so you can open it on your phone before you close the tab. It is a rebuild, not the original, and it is told to say so. It refuses to rebuild sign-in and payment pages. Saving needs an account — a saved build is encrypted under your account key, and there is no key until you have one. • Sign in with an email and password, or with a wallet — Solana, Ethereum, Sui or Tron. Wallet sign-in takes its signature on a privateer.pro page, never on the tab you happen to be on. • Choose your model, with its privacy tier shown above the composer where you can see it while you type. Guests pick from a free, zero-retention shortlist; an account opens the same full catalogue and the same trust tiers as the app. PERMISSIONS — WHY THERE ARE SO FEW The extension ships with no access to any website at all. When you attach a tab, Chrome asks you for that one origin, and that grant is the only page access it ever has. Every site you have granted is listed in the Account screen, and revocable there and in chrome://extensions. Reading an attached page is unattended: attaching a page is the consent to read it. Anything that changes a page is not. PRIVACY — PLAINLY, AND NO MORE • Your message and the text of the page you attached go to our server for inference in plaintext, routed to a zero-data-retention or trusted-execution model wherever the catalogue has one. That is how an answer gets produced. It is a transfer, and we would rather write it here than bury it. • As a guest, nothing gets stored at all — no account, no chat rows on our servers, nothing written to your browser but a count of how many free messages you have used. Closing the panel ends the conversation. • Once you have an account, what gets stored — your chats, and anything you save — is encrypted on your device before it is sent, under a key we do not hold. • There is no password recovery. If you forget your password, or lose the wallet you signed up with, the data is gone. That is what holding no key means, not an oversight we intend to fix. • You will not find an "end-to-end encrypted" badge on this listing, because of the first line above. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO YET • English only, for now. • Chrome, Edge, and Chromium browsers such as Brave, Vivaldi, Arc and Opera. Not Firefox or Safari. • No attachments, image or video generation, voice, or connectors in the panel — those live in the Privateer app. • The panel starts new chats and they sync to the app, but it cannot yet reopen an earlier one from inside the panel. REQUIREMENTS Chrome 116 or newer (the side panel). No account is needed to start; a Privateer account, which you can create from the panel, lifts the message cap and turns on page actions, saving and history.
