Overview
Capture the whole page. Keep it private. Full-page screenshots processed entirely inside your browser.
PrivaShot is a private full page screenshot extension for Chrome that lets you capture entire webpages, visible browser areas, and long scrolling pages directly in your browser. Capture a full webpage screenshot, preview it, copy it, or save it as a PNG without uploading the screenshot to a server. ## Full Page Screenshot for Chrome PrivaShot is designed for users who need a fast and reliable way to: • Capture an entire webpage • Take a full page screenshot • Capture long scrolling pages • Save website screenshots as PNG • Capture the visible browser area • Copy screenshots to the clipboard • Preview screenshots before saving The full page capture engine scrolls through the selected webpage, captures each visible section, and combines the result locally into one image. ## Private Screenshot Capture PrivaShot processes screenshots locally inside Chrome. The extension does not upload screenshots to a PrivaShot server and does not require a user account. PrivaShot does not use extension analytics or behavioral tracking. The extension also does not transmit captured webpage content for remote screenshot processing. ## Local-Only Screenshot Processing Your screenshot workflow stays inside the browser: Webpage → Chrome → PrivaShot → Local screenshot processing → Local preview → PNG file There is no PrivaShot screenshot-processing backend in this flow. This makes PrivaShot useful when capturing: • Private dashboards • Internal tools • Development environments • Documentation • Long articles • Product pages • Web applications • Bug reports • QA evidence • Design references ## Full Webpage Capture PrivaShot supports full-page screenshot capture for normal scrolling webpages. It is designed to handle common webpage behavior including: • Long pages • Sticky headers • Fixed page elements • Lazy-loaded images • Smooth scrolling • Browser zoom • High-DPI displays • Wide pages • Partial final viewports For extremely large or dynamically growing pages, PrivaShot applies safety limits to protect browser stability. When a complete screenshot cannot be produced safely, PrivaShot clearly marks the result as partial instead of presenting an incomplete screenshot as a full capture. ## Visible Area Screenshot You can also capture only the current visible browser area. Visible capture is useful when you need: • A quick screenshot of what is currently on screen • A specific webpage state • A UI issue • A confirmation message • A small section of a web application ## Screenshot Preview After capture, PrivaShot opens the image in a local extension preview. From the preview you can: • Review the screenshot • Download the screenshot as PNG • Copy the image to your clipboard • See whether a large capture was limited ## No Account Required PrivaShot does not require: • Registration • Login • Cloud storage • Subscription account • Screenshot hosting Install the Chrome extension and start capturing webpages. ## Minimal Chrome Permissions PrivaShot uses only the Chrome permissions needed for webpage screenshot capture. ### activeTab Provides temporary access to the webpage you explicitly choose to capture. ### scripting Allows PrivaShot to measure and scroll the selected webpage during full-page screenshot capture. ### offscreen Provides an extension-owned environment used to combine screenshot sections locally. ### storage Stores local PrivaShot preferences. PrivaShot does not request persistent host access to all websites. It also does not request permissions for: • Browsing history • Cookies • Downloads API • Chrome debugger • Persistent access to every website ## Chrome Security Boundaries Chrome prevents extensions from capturing certain protected browser pages. For example, some chrome:// pages and other restricted browser surfaces cannot be accessed by extensions. PrivaShot respects these Chrome security restrictions rather than requesting excessive permissions to work around them. ## Known Limitations Some web applications use internal scrolling containers instead of standard page scrolling. PrivaShot detects unsupported cases rather than producing an unreliable screenshot. Infinite-scroll pages and extremely large pages may also be limited to protect browser memory and stability. ## Privacy The PrivaShot Chrome extension does not collect: • Screenshot images • Captured webpage content • Browsing history • Extension usage analytics Screenshot capture, composition, preview, and export are performed locally inside the browser.
