PrismShare
Overview
Send a link, text or file to your phone as a PS Code, a colour code holding several times a QR code's data. Offline, no account.
PrismShare turns a link, a selection, a note or a small file into a colourful on-screen code, so you can move it to your phone by holding the code up to the camera. Nothing leaves your computer: no network call, no account, no pairing, no upload. A PS Code is a colour QR code. By stacking colour on the usual black-and-white pattern it carries several times the data of a plain QR code of the same size, so a whole link, a paragraph or a small file fits in one square. How to use it: - Click the toolbar button to share the page you are on, or - Right-click a page, link, image or selection and pick a "Prism this..." entry, or - Type "prism" in the address bar, or press Ctrl+Shift+Y. Then point the PrismShare phone app's Scan tab at the code. Open it full screen if the phone is more than a hand's width away. Bits per module (3, 6 or 9) trade how much a code carries against how good the capture has to be. One code holds about 2 kB; larger files use the PrismShare desktop app, which animates them across a looping sequence. This extension only sends. Reading a code is the phone app's job, since decoding needs the camera and the full colour model. PrismShare is fully offline: it reads only the page or item you choose to share, keeps nothing, and never contacts a server.
