Price Watch Local helps you track product prices directly in your browser — without creating an account or sending your watchlist to a remote server. Add product pages to your watchlist and Price Watch Local will periodically check their prices while your browser is running. The extension keeps your tracked products, price history, settings, and detected price data locally in your browser. Your watchlist and price history remain in your browser’s local extension storage. The extension only requests website access when it is needed to read product information from pages you choose to track. Notification permission is optional and is used only for price-related alerts. How it works Open a product page, click the Price Watch Local extension icon, and add the product to your watchlist. The extension analyzes the page using multiple signals such as visible prices, structured product data, embedded page data, and live page content to determine the most relevant product price. Some shopping websites display several prices at once — such as old prices, recommended retail prices, reference prices, prices from other sellers, installment amounts, coupons, shipping costs, or promotional prices. Price Watch Local uses multiple-source validation and contextual scoring to reduce false detections. If a website cannot be reliably checked through a normal background request, Price Watch Local can optionally open an inactive temporary tab, wait for the page to finish loading, read the live product information, and close only the tab it created. CAPTCHA challenges are never bypassed. Important Price checks are performed while the browser is available to run the extension. Mobile operating systems and browsers may impose additional background execution restrictions. Prices displayed by stores can vary by seller, location, membership status, coupons, selected product variant, delivery address, or active promotions. Always verify the final price on the store before completing a purchase. Price Watch Local is an independent price-tracking utility and is not affiliated with the online stores whose pages you choose to track.
