Prefer | Query Fan-out shows what ChatGPT does behind an answer that uses web search. ChatGPT doesn't search your prompt as written. It fans it out into several searches, reads a set of pages, and cites only some of them. This extension captures that while you use ChatGPT as normal and lays it out in Chrome's side panel. FOR EACH CONVERSATION YOU SEE • Every search query ChatGPT ran, grouped under the prompt that triggered it • The pages each search returned, with the ones ChatGPT cited marked • A Sources view that groups pages by site, with how many were read and how many were cited • Live progress while ChatGPT is still searching EXPORT AND REUSE • Export one conversation, or everything you've captured, as CSV or JSON • Copy a single query, all queries in a conversation, or any source URL WHO IT'S FOR SEO and content teams working on AI visibility: see which queries ChatGPT uses for the topics you care about, which sites it reads, and which ones earn the citation. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Captures are stored in your browser only. Nothing is sent to Prefer or anyone else. • The side panel makes no network requests of its own. Site icons come from Chrome's local cache. • Temporary chats are never captured. • Turn capture off at any time. Delete captures one by one or all at once. HOW TO USE 1. Click the Prefer icon in the toolbar to open the side panel. 2. Use chatgpt.com as normal and ask something that needs the web. 3. Searches, sources and citations appear as ChatGPT answers. Opening an earlier chat that used web search captures it too. GOOD TO KNOW • Works on chatgpt.com while signed in, for answers that use web search. • Deep research and agent mode aren't captured yet. • ChatGPT changes how it works from time to time.
