Precise Translate · AI Bilingual Translation for Webpages and Videos
Overview
Free AI translation for YouTube video captions, webpages, PDFs and subtitle files. Watch, read and learn beyond language barriers.
Precise Translate brings AI translation to your browser, making webpages, YouTube captions, PDFs and subtitle files easier to understand. Read translations alongside the original while watching videos, learning or researching. Bilingual webpage reading Display original text with its translation, show translations only, or restore the original. Choose manual, automatic or disabled translation per website and adjust the areas to translate. Supports articles, technical documentation and many dynamic webpages. YouTube bilingual captions Translate a video's existing captions and display bilingual or translated captions during playback. Adjust caption appearance, click a caption to seek, and export bilingual SRT/VTT subtitles. PDFs and subtitle files Import a text-based PDF, SRT or VTT into the file workspace. Translate, pause, resume and export results. Files are parsed locally; only the necessary text is sent for translation. Context and consistent terminology Contextual translation can use relevant headings and nearby content. Translate a selection or request an AI explanation. A custom glossary helps keep specialist terms consistent. Input translation offers faithful, concise and formal tones, with a preview before replacing the original. Make it yours Choose a Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese or English interface, 16 translation language options, light or dark themes, and a side-panel workspace. Translation preferences, file tasks and caches stay in the current browser. Getting started After installation, open Account & Service, read the data-processing notice and sign in with Google. New accounts require Gmail or Google Workspace. You do not need to purchase or configure a model API key. Precise Translate is currently free to use, requires an internet connection and is subject to service usage limits and model availability. Data and permissions We process the text you choose to translate together with necessary context and matching glossary entries using open-source models running in our self-hosted server environment. Translation-related data is not sent to or shared with model providers and is not used for model training. Original files are not uploaded. The Precise Translate server does not persist translation bodies or outputs, but keeps account information and necessary request and usage metadata. Automatic translation follows your enabled settings. Site permissions are requested for the relevant features; the optional persistent floating page button requires access to all websites. You can revoke access. See the privacy policy linked on this store page for details. Supported content YouTube translation requires existing captions. Speech recognition for videos without captions and live streams is not supported. PDFs must contain extractable text; scanned-document OCR is not supported. Some websites and complex PDF layouts may not be fully supported. AI translations can contain errors; check important wording against the original.
