Overview
Select code or text on any webpage and practice typing directly over the original content.
Practice Coding Anywhere turns source code and text on the web into an in-place typing exercise. Select a snippet, click the extension, and type directly over the original content — nothing is copied into a modal, another app, or a rearranged version of the page. Use it to practice real code from GitHub, documentation, tutorials, CodeMirror editors, syntax-highlighted examples, and ordinary webpages. FEATURES • Practice a selected passage, a GitHub line range, or an entire GitHub source file. • Preserves code indentation, line breaks, and consecutive blank lines. • Auto-indents the next line after Enter, just like a code editor. • Correct, incorrect, current, and remaining characters are highlighted in place. • Live WPM, accuracy, error count, and progress in a compact, movable stats bar. • Pause, restart, fix mistakes with Backspace, and press Escape to exit. • Automatic scrolling keeps the current line in view; the timer pauses while the tab is hidden. • Pick a new passage without reopening the popup — drag a new selection, or select first and click "Use selected". • Toggle the blinking in-page cursor on or off. • Keyboard shortcut: Command+Shift+K on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+K elsewhere. • Everything runs locally: no account, no analytics, no advertising, no network requests.
