Overview

Stamps your avatar on GitHub PRs you already reviewed or commented on, and opens the untouched PRs of repos you track in tab groups.

PR Seen shows you which pull requests you've already looked at, and opens the ones you haven't. I review a lot of PRs at work. On a busy org the PR list is a wall of titles, and I kept opening ones I'd already reviewed while missing the ones actually waiting on me. So I built this. WHAT IT DOES 1. Your avatar on PRs you've already touched: Open any pull request list on GitHub: a repo's, an org's, or your own. Every PR you've already reviewed or commented on gets a small copy of your avatar next to its title. This part uses the GitHub login you already have in the browser. No token, no setup. 2. A queue of the PRs you haven't touched yet: Pick the repos you care about on the settings page and paste a GitHub token. Every few minutes (3 by default, you can change it) PR Seen asks GitHub which open PRs in those repos you haven't reviewed or commented on, and opens them as tabs, one tab group per repo. There's also a second group per repo for your own open PRs, so they stay in front of you until they're merged or closed. You can turn either group off for any repo. Tabs clean up after themselves: - A review tab closes once you've reviewed or commented on that PR. - A tab for one of your own PRs closes once it's merged or closed. - It never closes a tab with a comment you haven't sent yet. - It never closes a tab it didn't open. If you opened it, it's yours. - If you take a tab somewhere else, away from its PR, it lets go of it instead of closing it. Each tab is titled "#1234 the PR title" so you can tell them apart in the tab strip. THE POPUP Click the toolbar icon to see, for each repo, how many PRs are waiting on your review, how many of yours are still open, and how many you've already seen. It shows when it last checked and when it checks next, and there's a Check now button. If a repo couldn't be checked (a typo in the name, or a token that isn't authorized for that org), it tells you, instead of quietly showing zero. SETTINGS - How often to check, from 30 seconds to 1 hour - When to open tabs on its own: always, only while you're on GitHub, or never, plus a snooze until tomorrow - The most tabs it will open - Whether a re-requested review puts a PR back in your queue - Whether to include drafts - Backup: export your repo list and settings to a file, and import it later or in another browser. The token is never in the file. SETTING IT UP 1. Install it. 2. Open the settings page (right-click the toolbar icon, then Options). 3. Add the repos you want tracked, as owner/repo. 4. Create a classic personal access token with the "repo" scope at github.cote it in. If your org uses SAML single sign-on, click Configure SSO next tothe token and authorize it for that org, or that org's repos won't load. 5. Done. The avatars work right away, and the queue fills on the next check. PRIVACY - Your token is stored only in this browser profile (not synced anywhere). - The avatar part doesn't use the token at all. - Nothing is sent to me or anyone else. No analytics, no tracking, no server - Remove the extension and everything it stored goes with it. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY - github.com: to put avatars on PR lists and read PR pages. - api.github.com/graphql: to ask GitHub which PRs need you. - Tab groups: to put the queue into groups. - Storage: your repo list, your settings and your token. - Alarms: to run the check on a schedule. It doesn't ask to see your tabs on other sites. A FEW HONEST NOTES - It checks at most once every 30 seconds and backs off when GitHub says slow down, so it won't hammer the API. - If GitHub sends back an answer it can't trust, it doesn't close anything. en than close the wrong one. - Works on Chrome and Edge (Chrome 120 or newer). PR Seen is a personal project. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub.
