Picture Translate
Overview
Use Picture Translate to translate image text and screenshots with picture translator and screen translator features.
🖼️ Turn foreign-language visuals into clear localized content with Picture Translate. The extension helps you understand photos, screenshots, diagrams, infographics, product graphics, and interfaces while keeping the original layout and design as close as possible. Picture Translate works as an image translator and screenshot translator when OCR text alone is not enough. 🚀 How it works 1️⃣ Choose your target language. The source language is detected automatically. 2️⃣ Right-click an image, select a visible screen area, or upload a file. 3️⃣ Every new translation starts in fast Standard mode. 4️⃣ Review the result. For a more complex visual, switch to High and translate again. 5️⃣ Download the result or retry if needed. 📸 Capture screenshots and screen areas Text may appear inside dashboards, canvas elements, charts, interfaces, or video frames. Select the area and create a localized version without copying lines manually. Select Area starts from the popup or keyboard shortcut, making Picture Translate useful when content cannot be selected normally. 📤 Upload images Open Upload Image for PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WEBP files, or drag and drop them into the page. Standard starts automatically, and Original and Translated are shown side by side when ready. You can change the target language or switch between Standard and High, then use Translate again for a new result. 🌐 More than plain OCR A basic OCR tool extracts characters and returns separate text. Picture Translate is designed for a different result: a localized graphic that keeps wording connected to its visual context. ➤ Keep charts, labels, buttons, shapes, and illustrations together. ➤ Preserve placement and appearance as closely as possible. ➤ Read foreign-language content without rebuilding the layout yourself. ➤ Review and download the finished visual. When you need to translate text in image content or translate a picture without separate OCR output, the process stays in one focused browser tool. 🧩 Useful for many types of visual content Picture Translate can help with: • infographics and diagrams with labels; • screenshots from apps, websites, and dashboards; • product photos, packaging, and marketplace graphics; • presentations, instructions, menus, posters, and signs; • educational materials, charts, and visual references. If you need to translate picture content from a foreign webpage, the extension keeps the localized wording inside the graphic instead of placing it in a separate text box. 💼 For work, study, and everyday browsing Marketers can localize images from product pages and ads. Analysts can use image translation for charts and reports. Designers can understand foreign references faster. Students can read captions and diagrams without losing context. For photo translate tasks, it is useful for menus, labels, signs, packaging, and product photos. ⚡ Standard and High modes Standard is the fast default mode. High is an AI-assisted beta mode for complex images where layout, typography, or tightly placed labels make the task harder. Every new image starts in Standard. High runs only when you select it and explicitly start another translation. For complex graphics, High can work as an AI image translator or image text translator when formatting matters as much as meaning. 🌍 Work with different languages Picture Translate remembers your target language for future Right-click and Select Area jobs, while the source language is detected automatically. Need to translate picture to English? Choose English as the target language. For picture translate to English or image translate to English tasks, the same setting applies. To translate English to Spanish picture content, choose Spanish instead. The same workflow can translate image content from webpage graphics, screenshots, selected areas, and uploaded files. For wording that cannot be selected normally, you can translate text from image content. You can also translate screenshot content while keeping the result inside the visual. ❓ Frequently asked questions 📌 What is the difference between Standard and High? 💡 Standard is the fast default mode.
