Overview

Power Automate flow URLs (classic/new, survey). Unhide or unlock fields on model-driven Power Apps forms.

Stop Power Automate from opening the wrong designer—and tune model-driven Power Apps forms your way If you build on Microsoft Power Platform, small defaults add up. Cloud flow links do not always open the classic or new Power Automate designer you expect. On model-driven Power Apps record forms, hidden fields stay hidden and read-only controls stay locked until you dig through the UI every time. Power Platform Configurator keeps your choices steady in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. What Power Platform Configurator does Power Automate (flow and run pages) Pick your editor — Choose Classic Designer or New Designer. Your preference is remembered and applied when you open or follow links on make.powerautomate.com, flow.microsoft.com, and other Power Automate hosts (only URLs whose path includes /flows/ or /runs/). See your mode at a glance — The toolbar icon shows a small badge: C for Classic, N for New Designer. When Paused, the badge is cleared. Control the designer survey prompt — On the Power Automate tab, choose Hide (default) to keep Microsoft's optional "why did you switch?" style prompt off when links are adjusted, or Show to normalize URLs that already include the survey parameter (the extension does not add it when it is missing). Pause without uninstalling — Paused turns off all link changes while the extension stays installed. Turn enforcement back on when you are ready. Power Apps (model-driven record forms) Show or hide hidden fields — On Dataverse org URLs (regional dynamics.com hosts and sovereign clouds) and apps.powerapps.com record forms, choose Show hidden fields to reveal fields the form marked hidden, or Hide hidden fields to stop auto-applying (reload the page to restore platform defaults). Unlock or lock read-only fields — Choose Unlock read-only to enable controls the form marked read-only, or Lock read-only to stop auto-applying. Stays applied as you work — While Show or Unlock is selected, preferences sync across your browser profile and re-apply when you open records, switch tabs, or navigate inside the app. Canvas apps are not supported. Popup and preferences Open the toolbar popup for tabs Power Automate, Power Apps, and About. Designer, survey, and Power Apps choices sync via the browser. Popup light/dark theme stays on this device only. Who it is for Power Automate authors, makers, and admins who want predictable designer behavior without fighting the default link each time—and Power Apps consultants, developers, and power users who need hidden or read-only fields visible on model-driven record forms during configuration, testing, or support. How it works (in plain terms) On Power Automate sites, the extension adjusts flow and run URLs so the v3 flag matches your editor choice, and optionally adjusts the v3survey query flag per your Hide or Show setting. Enforcement uses declarative network rules plus in-page checks so single-page navigations stay aligned. On supported Power Apps hosts, the extension runs a small script on record forms to use the standard client API—only while you have chosen Show or Unlock. It does not run on sites outside the permissions declared for the extension. Before you install Microsoft can change Power Automate URLs, designer behavior, or form APIs. After installing, open a flow or run and a model-driven record form, set your preferences in the extension popup, and confirm pages behave the way you expect. If a form is still loading, reload the page once for Power Apps settings to apply.
