PostureGuard
Overview
Sit up straight. Webcam posture monitor that buzzes your phone (and any paired smartwatch) when you slouch.
PostureGuard nags you into good posture without spying on you. Your webcam runs through an on-device pose model (MediaPipe) that tracks your ears and shoulders. If your head drifts forward or your shoulders round for more than a few seconds, PostureGuard sends a lightweight text alert to a private ntfy.sh topic you pick — which then buzzes your phone, your Garmin watch, or any other device subscribed to that topic. What makes it different • Zero cloud, zero servers. Video and pose landmarks stay in your browser. The only thing that ever leaves is a short text line like "Slouch detected — deviation 17.3°". • Tunable. Sensitivity (in degrees of deviation), alert delay, and cooldown are all sliders. Calibrate to your own straight-back posture with a 3-second countdown. How to use it Install the extension. The setup guide opens on first run. Pick an unguessable ntfy topic string. Subscribe to it in the ntfy phone app so your watch mirrors it. Open the monitor page, click Start Monitoring, sit up straight for the 3-second calibration, and go about your work. What we do NOT do • No accounts. No signup. No email address collected. • No analytics, telemetry, tracking, or crash reporting. • No video, image, or pose data leaves your machine — ever. • No third-party scripts loaded at runtime.
