Popout Catcher

Opens annoying popup windows as tabs in your main browser window and puts them in tab groups.

Tired of small popup windows floating over your browser, hiding behind other windows and missing from your tabs? Popout Catcher opens them as normal tabs in the same browser window instead – and can put them straight into a tab group. HOW IT WORKS • When a page tries to open a popup window (sign-in, payment, chat, preview, "open in a new window"), you get a normal tab next to the page instead. • The page stays connected to the new tab, so sign-in and payment windows still finish their job. • Ordinary links that open a new tab work as before. TAB GROUPS Choose where a caught popup goes: • Add to the detected group (default): the group of the page it came from, a group that already holds a tab of the same site (for example Claude), or a group named after the site. If nothing fits, a new group named after the site. • Create a new group: always a new group named after the site. • Don't add to a group: the tab stays outside any group. ONE SWITCH Turn Popout Catcher off for a moment without disabling the extension. The icon shows OFF while it is off, and open pages follow the switch right away. EXCEPTIONS "Sign in with Google" windows stay popups on purpose, because many sites expect them that way. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Popout Catcher collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. It only looks at the addresses of your open tabs, on your computer, to find the right group. Settings stay in your browser.
