PolyU Job Intelligence Assistant is an independent, local-first Chrome extension that helps PolyU students review, compare, and rank job opportunities available through the PolyU Job Board. After the user signs in to the Job Board, the extension compares visible job information with an editable student profile. It generates an explainable matching score based on major relevance, skills, career interests, preferred location, and availability. Key features: - Import a PDF, DOCX, TXT, or Markdown CV, then review and edit the extracted matching information. - Scan a configurable number of job titles and filter results by selected job types. - Retrieve detailed information only for promising candidates to reduce unnecessary processing and AI usage. - View ranked recommendations with a clear breakdown of each matching factor. - Save job-tracking tasks that can run daily or weekly while Chrome is running and the PolyU login session remains valid. - Keep a deduplicated local job list and export results as CSV, JSON, or Markdown. - Optionally use your own DeepSeek, OpenAI, or Gemini API key for structured job analysis. - Optionally research company credibility and display supporting sources when the selected AI provider supports grounded web search. - Store profile data, preferences, job results, and API settings locally in the current Chrome profile, with optional encrypted protection for sensitive settings. - Use the interface in English, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese. AI features are optional. Content extracted from authenticated PolyU job pages is sent to the selected third-party AI provider only after the user accepts the in-product consent notice and initiates analysis or enables a scheduled job-tracking task that uses AI. The extension does not collect or store PolyU passwords, SSO cookies, session tokens, or verification codes. Important limitations: This is an unofficial, independently developed student tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Job-page extraction, scheduled tracking, company research, and AI analysis are experimental and may be unstable. Their reliability depends on the current PolyU Job Board layout, the user’s login state, Chrome remaining available, network access, and third-party AI services. Results may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Always verify job requirements, application methods, deadlines, employer information, matching results, and cited sources on the original pages before applying or making career decisions.
