PolterTab Browser Control

Let any AI assistant drive and scrape your existing Chrome profile — no headless browser, no complex setup.

PolterTab lets AI agents use the Chrome you're already logged into. Pair this extension with the PolterTab MCP server (npm install -g poltertab) and any MCP client can browse, click, fill forms, and extract data inside your real browser profile. That includes Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, and agents you wrote yourself. There is no headless browser to configure: the agent borrows the sessions your browser already holds. WHAT THE AGENT CAN DO • Navigate, click, fill, scroll, hover, and screenshot in your existing tabs • Read pages as accessibility snapshots, plain text, or structured records • Walk infinite-scroll and virtualized pages with smart scrolling • Read the API responses behind an obfuscated page with network capture • Run several agents against one browser, each in its own tab • Upload files, but only from folders you chose UPLOADS YOU CONTROL The extension's settings page lists the folders agents may upload from. You add or remove folders there or with the poltertab command line; nothing outside those folders, and never your SSH keys, cloud credentials, or system directories, can be uploaded. Every upload is written to a local activity log you can read. PAIRING On first install the popup shows a short code. Type it into your terminal (poltertab uploads pair) to link this extension to your local server. The code is generated on your machine, shown only in this extension, and expires in five minutes. Nothing is sent anywhere else. EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR MACHINE The extension's only connection is a WebSocket to your own local server on localhost. It makes no other network requests and collects no analytics, and PolterTab has no servers of its own. The server's one outbound call is a daily version check against the npm registry, and an environment variable turns it off.
