PointsFinch: set your points free PointsFinch is the browser companion to your PointsFinch account (pointsfinch.com), the one place to keep track of your miles, points, credit cards and card-linked offers. The extension does the legwork on the websites where that information lives, so you don't have to copy it over by hand. WHAT IT DOES • Shows the best card for the site you're on When you shop on a store PointsFinch recognizes, the toolbar badge shows the best return among your own cards. Open the popup to see your top three cards for that store and any card-linked offers you have there. The ranking is downloaded to your browser and matched on your computer, so the sites you visit are never sent to PointsFinch. • Adds your card-linked offers for you Card issuers keep dozens, sometimes hundreds, of offers behind one-at-a-time "add" buttons. PointsFinch can add them for you at a human pace and save everything it finds to your account, so you can see all your offers in one list, by store, value and expiry date. - American Express Offers: works through all your Amex cards from the page you're already on, in the order you choose, with no extra tabs. It saves each card's full list of added offers (and, when it can, the offer terms). - Chase Offers: adds the available offers on each of your Chase credit cards from the Chase offers page and saves them to your account. - Bank of America BankAmeriDeals: activates the deals that need it, renews them when their 45 days run out, and saves them. Run it on demand from the popup, or let it run automatically when you sign in. The first time, it asks; you can say yes, not now, or never, and change your mind in Settings. • Captures your points and miles balances Click your balance once on an airline, hotel or bank rewards site, and PointsFinch remembers where it is. With the site access you grant, it re-reads the balance on later visits and keeps your account up to date. Chase Ultimate Rewards points are read for each Chase card after you sign in. • Finds the cards you have Cards the extension sees on issuer sites can be added to your PointsFinch wallet in one click. If your household has several people, it works out whose bank login is whose and asks you only when it can't tell. • Stays in your control - A Stop button on the progress clock ends a Chase run after the offer in progress, and nothing more is added until you start it again from the popup. - You choose the pause between clicks, how often the Amex run may repeat, and which cards are included and in what order. - If a page doesn't behave as expected (it changed, a pop-up won't close), the extension stops, says so, and leaves the page alone. - While a run is working it presses the issuer's "stay signed in" button if the site asks whether you're still there, so a long run isn't cut off. It never presses a log-out or cancel button, and it only does this during a run. YOUR PRIVACY • PointsFinch never asks for, reads or stores your bank or rewards passwords. The extension only reads pages you are already signed in to, on the sites listed below, and you do the signing in yourself. • What is saved to your PointsFinch account: offers (store, offer text, terms, expiry, whether added), card names and the last four or five digits the issuer shows, and the points balances you capture. If an issuer page greets you by name, that name may be sent to suggest whose login it is. Full card numbers are never read. • What is not sent: your browsing history, the pages you visit, or the contents of any other website. Best-card matching happens on your computer. • Access to additional websites (for balance capture) is requested one site at a time, only when you click to capture a balance there. You can remove it at any time in Chrome's extension settings. • The extension connects to your account with a token that is stored in your browser and can be revoked from the PointsFinch website at any time. SITES THE EXTENSION WORKS ON American Express (americanexpress.com), Chase (secure.chase.com and Ultimate Rewards), Bank of America (secure.bankofamerica.com and its BankAmeriDeals site), plus the PointsFinch website itself. Balance capture works on any rewards site you choose to allow. GOOD TO KNOW • You need a free PointsFinch account at pointsfinch.com. Install the extension, open pointsfinch.com/extension while signed in, and click Connect. • Adding offers faster than a person would can make an issuer slow down or flag the activity on your account, so the default pace is deliberately gentle. Keep it there unless you have a reason not to. • Issuers change their websites without notice, which can interrupt automatic features until the extension is updated. • Please check that using automation on your accounts is fine under your card agreements; you are responsible for how you use it. • PointsFinch is not financial advice.
