Hello. Did you try asking for help at mailbox@pointspath.com before posting this review? You can uninstall Points Path just like any other extension. Go to your "Window" tab in Google Chrome, choose "Extensions" from the menu, and then click the "Remove" button next to Points Path.

I really really like this extension. The only thing I think it's missing is an actual computed value for points-to-cents. The meter is cool, but I'd like to actually see the concrete number of points (could even be buried in the info button). For example, there was a United flight for 15,000 miles that cost $580 with cash. This is 3.8 cents per mile which gives me a numerical value I can can use to compare to the 1.5 cents/mile baseline with the Chase card. Anyways, great work and loving th... Show more

Very promising and potentially helpful, though giving access to google.com (instead of google.com/travel) and access to a localhost URL is sketchy. Would update my review to 5 stars if those two were updated (no localhost, and not requiring my full google URL tracking which includes my searches)
Hi Daniel. Thanks for the feedback. We have removed the localhost URL access from our extension — it was simply left over from earlier testing and not being used in any nefarious way. And we actually do only request access to google.com/travel — the notification that Google's Web Store displays only shows the root domain and not the entire URL. However, if you examine our extension's manifest, you'll see that it does in fact only use the /travel subdomain, not all of Google. So we've done our part — will you update your review to 5 stars as you suggested? Thanks!

Wow this is a fantastic extension. Super neat to see the detail, it loads quickly, and, while I have a slightly different "value per mile" i might apply in my head, the transparency and ability to see all this data in one place is incredible!!! For those on the fence (or who might have read negative reviews)...USE IT. IT'S GREAT. And the other reviews seem to be "user error" based on how simple these actions are. It's so easy to use!

After closing down my browser and taking a break from trying to figure out why there were no points showing on my flight searches, I re-opened, did a flight search and a spinning circle appeared where points are supposed to show up. The only points information I received there was: "Airline program not yet covered by points path", "could not load data", and "not available w/miles". Now I see that there is a paid version so it may be that I need to pay before this works. Not unusual for most a... Show more
Hello Alison. As we told you by email (twice), you do not need to pay for Points Path in order for it to work. The free version covers all the major North American airline programs, including American, Delta, United, Alaska, JetBlue, and Air Canada. Those airlines and their partners fly to many domestic and international destinations, all of which are covered by Points Path. If you didn't find any points prices on a particular search, it's because those airline programs currently don't have any availability. That's the fault of the airlines, not Points Path. We understand that the world of frequent flyer miles can be frustrating, and not everyone understands how it works. We're happy to help, but we can't when users like you don't bother to reach out to us to ask for assistance first before posting a negative review. Over 57,000 people are now successfully using the free version of Points Path, so it's a shame that you've chosen to post this instead of taking some time to understand how the system of travel rewards works. If you did, you'd actually be able to get free travel by using tools like Points Path.

Unlike similar extensions, this one does not work unless you create an account and login the extension into the account. It looks like a data mining tool trying to benefit from Google Flights' popularity. In today's security sensitive world, it makes no sense to provide them your email for merely doing some searches.
As we make very clear in our materials, we only ask users to login for flights searches departing more than 60 days away, and we only do so to protect our search APIs from being abused outside the extension, which occurred in the past at great cost. We do not sell, trade, or "mine" your data. Our policies are clearly stated in our Privacy Policy, and are no different than other popular extensions like Honey or Grammarly. In today's security sensitive world, asking people to provide merely a simple email address — literally any working email address — to use a free extension is not a heavy burden, William.

This is a fantastic extension. Beyond the search function, it's incredibly helpful in recommending whether to use points or cash. I'd love to know more about the criteria they use for these evaluations. If they expanded to include more reward programs, I'd definitely consider making a donation or purchasing a premium version. Great work!
