Pointnote
Overview
Select website elements, describe your changes, and instantly copy a detailed prompt for your coding assistant.
Pointnote turns website feedback into a clear prompt for your coding assistant. Point to an element, describe what you want to change, and copy your requests with the context needed to find the right component. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open Pointnote on a website and choose Start selecting. 2. Hover to highlight an element, then click it. 3. Describe the change you want and choose Add change. 4. Keep adding notes, or review and edit the ones you have. 5. Choose Done to copy your prompt. The bottom-right notification lets you copy it again or view the prompt. USEFUL CONTEXT, READY TO PASTE Your prompt includes your requests, element selectors, bounded HTML excerpts, text, computed styles, dimensions, and viewport context. Paste it into a coding assistant that has access to your website's source code. Pointnote prepares the request; it does not edit or deploy the website. MADE FOR EVERYDAY FEEDBACK • Select a parent element when you need to describe a larger section. • Reopen saved notes from numbered markers. • Pause selection to interact normally with the page. • Preview the full prompt before sharing it. • Start from a keyboard shortcut and change it through Chrome's shortcut settings. • A Palenight interface, clear focus indicators, and reduced-motion support. LOCAL BY DESIGN There is no account, server, analytics, or AI API. Your notes and selected page context stay in memory in the current page document. Reloading or navigating clears them. The extension copies the prompt to your clipboard when you finish; you choose where to paste it. Form values, editable content, scripts, and URL query strings are omitted from captured context, but selected page text may still contain information you should review before sharing. FREE, WITH OPTIONAL SUPPORT All features are free. The optional Buy me a coffee link opens the developer's support page in a separate tab; donations unlock nothing. REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS Requires Chrome 120 or newer. Chrome's internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, and some protected viewers cannot be inspected. Local files require Chrome's Allow access to file URLs setting. Selection works in the top document and open shadow roots; iframe contents and closed shadow-root internals are not inspected.
